Work great for my Scotty rod holders

They are bulky and they are reinforced with some space age futuristic plastic. But if you mount these on a kayak with backing plates they are as sturdy as you will ever need. You will break the plastic kayak before these break. I have had these on older boats for years. Some of the rod holders are almost 20 years old and probably caught thousands of fish. Ive tried different options for my kayak and for what I do and the kind of fish I fishing for the track mount holders are just not good enough. The rod holders for the tracks are fine but the track will either fail or pull the screws out of the track mount eventually. So I bought two more bases and will find 2 spots to mount these with the scotty backplates then call it good.

I had been looking for a mounting system for my depth finder that would allow me to move it to multiple locations on the boat, and move it to other boats, e.g. my deck boat, jon boat, etc., instead of needing a depth finder for each. This mounting system does the trick, and has other accessories, such as cup holders and rod holders that can be used with the same sockets. The accessory drops into the mount through a notch, then has multiple positions in the mount where your accessory can be rotated and locked in position. I have not tested the strength of the mount. I can say that I have had it mounted on my deck boat for over a year and whether towing down the road or on the water, it has held my Lowrance depth finder firmly in place.

What can I say? It's SCOTTY! So well made & heavy duty! SUPER GOOD PRICE compared to big box stores and other sellers too! TOO BAD they do not include the hardware to attach, but...for the price...:) I added a few to my YAK so I could move Scotty rod holders to different locations or add other Scotty accessories that fit these mounts. I suggest using SS screws and locking nuts. USE WASHERS inside with nuts to make it a stronger attachment. I also always use "marine goop" to seal anything I attach to my YAKS.

Three years later and it’s still working great

As much as this cost you'd think they would include some quality stainless steel screws, but nope. The base is solid and the way things fit into place they are not going to easily come out.
