Ribbed Plastic Wall Anchors, #4-6-8 x 7/8in, 100 Pack, Yellow

I saw a write up on this particular size item in a gun magazine for using them as "snap caps" for rim-fire in .22LR and .22WMR cartridges and I am rating this 5 stars for that purpose and cannot rate them for their intended use as ribbed plastic anchors because I have not used them for that purpose. They worked well in my Ruger Single Six and the Ruger MK II even feeding them using the magazine. They worked for both cylinders of my Single Six just fine which saves me a lot of money by not purchasing actual snap caps. The plastic rims do eventually get smashed down by the firing pin but when they get real flat I just toss them and insert a new ones. I bought the 100 pack which should last me for a long time, probably years! It's important that you get this particular size for use in your .22's - size 4-6-8 x 7/8" Happy trails.

Below is my previous review, in case somebody can find the actual "snap caps" I'm looking for. These were redesigned and have smaller rims making them useless for a rimfire. Nonetheless, I'm still leaving it as a 5 star review because I'm sure that they work fine as the anchors for which they were designed. This is coming from a Grandmaster ranked speed shooter. Anybody who has tried a .22lr snap cap knows that they are a phenomenal waste of money: $2 apiece, and they break the first time you drop a hammer on them, often to the point that the rim rips off and they can't be extracted with anything other than a barrel rod. These anchors can take multiple hits over time and work perfectly. I just bought my second pack of 100 after many years of use from the first pack. Highly recommended for the active rimfire shooter!

Whoever approved the manufacturing of these anchors to sell on Amazon needs to be fired. This garbage is paper thin and useless wasting everybody's time. I took two pictures with the very same anchors I've been using for 20 plus years and these new pieces of garbage that would never work they are so thin and flimsy just throw them away. Why would they try to make something so little Windows classic all over the world waiting to be recycled but this little tiny piece had to be cheapened down so bad that you can't even push it in a hole it's so flimsy and tiny. How in the world can you screw up something this small made out of plastic blows my mind but it's useless so anybody reads this review and go forward with this purchase you just wasted your money. These are supposed to be pushed through a cement hole or anything stronger than light foam these would never work. Either the hole will be too big or you won't be able to get it in the right hole. Have they even tested these items before they put them for sale all over Amazon? Don't they have to make a mold to make these? I just don't get the purpose of making something this little out of plastic when you have to make a mold and make them completely useless. It's the same process whether you make one that works or you make complete junk and these people chose Make junk. How much did these people save with this product that no one can use? Did it cost 10 cents more per hundreds to make them correct? I'm at a loss of the mentality behind this garbage they're selling as anchors. The only thing that makes sense is somebody screwed up the mold or whatever they used to make it and instead of fixing the problem a bad decision maker decided to screw the world with this garbage product that doesn't work maybe people who are clueless will buy this and we'll make some money off Amazon.

The photo shows an anchor with a nice head on it which helps to prevent it from being pushed into the wall. The anchors I received had little to no head. They will work but it takes a bit more care in drilling the hole and inserting into the wall. I much prefer the anchors as shown in the picture and will look for another brand when I buy again.

I know that this anchor is the 'standard' that everyone uses for a snap cap .But... I was using some commercial plastic 22lr 'real' snap caps a week or 2 ago while working on one of my CZ 457s. I guess they were old, because the rim broke off (and was extracted) but the front half remained in the bbl. Not good. Luckily, I discovered this while trying to feed a live round. Thank goodness I didn't succeeded getting the live round chambered! So I bought these anchors. The design must have changed because the 'rim' portion is almost non-existent. While working on both a Ruger target 1022 and a Ruger Precision Rimfire, I noticed these anchors fit virtually flush with the bbl, and won't extract. For these rifles, I just went back to a fired case. Maybe these will work on rifles with tighter chambers (like the MTR) but a no-go in these two Rugers. I have a few more Ruger rimfires but have not tried them yet. I ordered another brand from another source, so we'll see. Edit: I've now tried these wall anchor 'snap caps' in 3 Ruger 22 rifles. In each case, the anchor went completely flush with the back of the chamber and will NOT extract. Today, I tried these in my Savage MK ll 22 BRJ. They fit better and WILL extract. The ones I bought from eBay won't even fit in any rifle. Lots of comments on this Hillman product and all recent buyers report the same thing; the 'rim' of the new production is VERY thin, despite the picture on here. Evidently these were an older production.

I can't speak for how effective these anchors are in accepting screws and bearing loads. But they make for perfect "snap caps" for rimfire rifles chambered for 0.22 Shot/Long/Long Rifle. The 0.22 caliber plastic snap caps made by companies like Tipton are expensive and brittle and they crack almost instantly. The aluminum snap caps made by companies like Pachmayer are too hard and can damage your firing pin and other internal components of your rifle. Although they will not cycle/feed from a mag (at least not in my Henry lever actions), the Hillman 4-6-8x7/8 ribbed plastic anchors fit the chamber of .22 caliber rifles PERFECTLY and are made of pliable plastic that cushions your firing pin and protects your chamber face. The extractors/ejectors on my Henrys have no problem pulling the anchors from the chamber and ejecting them when I cycle their actions. I find that after 2 to 3 shots, the rim of the anchor becomes markedly deformed. I usually eject the anchor and rotate it a bit in the chamber to expose a fresh section of rim to the firing pin. I can usually get 12 to 15 shots per anchor. That doesn't sound like much, but in a slow concentrated dry fire session, you will only go through one or two anchors.

While in the process of looking for 22lr snap caps for dry fire practice I stumbled onto these. Talk about a creative use for wall anchors! They cycle perfectly from mag to chamber. The take about12 to 15 strikes before the rim gets damaged, but if you rotate them you can easily get 50 strikes per "round". The flange is the perfect size so they eject like regular shell as well. I have run them through revolvers, semi auto and bolt action guns and have not yet had a single jam. If they do get jammed, you can simply twist a screw int the center hole and pull it out. A perfect inexpensive solution!

I own a couple of .22LR handguns to have fun with the cheap .22LR ammo at the range. I read from some online firearms forums and the reviews here on Amazon that these 370326 yellow ribbed plastic anchors would work very good as inexpensive .22LR snap caps. I bought a pack of 100 to try and sure enough, they worked great with my Ruger SR22 and Phoenix HP22A. My guns fed and ejected these with no problems. Rimfire snapcaps don't last long so I was glad I found these anchors as they are so cheap to throw away after some "shots". But they're not bad at all as I could pull the trigger on each of them many times before I needed to replace it with a fresh one. I highly recommend these for use as .22LR snap caps.

Seen various people recommend these for use as 22LR snap caps, but the ones I received are useless for that purpose. Actual 22lr rims (and proper snap caps) are about 1mm thick, but these are more like 0.5mm. Just enough in my bolt action to at least extract (so didn't get stuck), but the firing pin makes no mark on them indicating it's barely making contact thus defeating the point and not protecting the pin. You could hear a clear difference when used vs actual snap caps. I wasn't going to mark it down based on that, since it's not the intended use, but the product photos don't reflect reality. Looking at the rim vs total length in the product photos, the rim in the product photo is about 1mm. Perhaps they've changed the design to make that thinner and not updated the photos, or the thickness isn't consistent and varies between batches, either way it doesn't help anyone purchasing based on what is shown

Perfectly good product, just a bit smaller and lighter duty than expected vs pictures.

Vive internet !

Scam. These are like for miniatures or something. The photo isn't even shaped the same and you cant get a refund. Looks like you cant give zero stars, or I would.
