Out-Grow Sterilized Rye Berry Mushroom Substrate with Self Healing Injection Port (1)

In less than 3 weeks I've seen tremendous mycelium development and no signs of contamination. Bags are VERY thick, the inoculation ports are super thick and self seal well. I did notice a huge amount of dulling on the syringe needle after a single puncture through the port. Like I said they are VERY thick. Be careful not to push too hard and puncture through the back of the bag. The small size and volume of the bags has allowed me to inoculate 5 bags using only 10mL of spores. The breathing port has a nice thick filter material, so follow the instructions included with the bags on how to introduce oxygen and prepare your grain bags before attempting inoculation. They arrived well sealed, with no visible humidity or moisture present on the inner bag surface, appears to contain the perfect amount of sterile internal moisture for quick mycelium development using only 2mL of injected spore solution. So far I'm very happy and have had very good results. A great tip, inoculate your grain bags when the moon is in the sign of scorpio using the sidereal zodiac system. You will be surprised how fast the mycelium will develop and establish itself.

1st things 1st! I’ve order 6 pounds 3X’S every single one of my bags were perfected! The mycelium came out with no problems at all! 2nd! A lot of ppl who post bad reviews its only because they try to get into mushroom growing (mycology) learning based off of YouTube , tiktok etc. the whole www. Is cyber security, so when you post certain things they don’t want ppl to know , they red flag and take it down, so if there’s 3 steps to growing mushrooms they will take down 1 out of 3 of those videos . Leaving you to believe it’s not your fault. When it is, bc you relied of a controlled a.I. app mood director to guide you. Education cost , you will be charged in anything you do. With that being said when this product arrives you have to treat it with the upmost respect ! From how and where you store it . To temp. Control . Contamination awareness. If you don’t clean your home or work area thoroughly daily? You will contaminate this product without even trying ! This is bc your body is used to the bacteria’s you don’t disinfect, but the substrates and spores are not. Leaving you to think it’s the sellers fault ! These bags are very reliable bc of the breathing port! Their very sturdy allowing mycelium to breath while keeping contaminates away(again) you still need to store in a control temp of 70 degrees sterile area. The injection port is very reliable and study !!! Their doing us a huge favor bc trying to sterilize the rueberry alone is a major job . Ventilation to the bag is another ! I’ve bout 18 bags ! I highly recommend outgrow and this product !!!

I purchased this product after checking the customer reviews as I always do when buying from Amazon. The reviews were mixed but overall were a bit more positive than negative so I initially purchased 6 one pound bags. I received them in a few days and they looked like a good product so I ordered 6 more along with some of OUTGROWS casing mix and manure compost. I followed the directions for prep and inoculation of the bags to a T. I have been doing this for years with home made bird seed jars and BRF jars with close to a 100% success rate, so this was not my first rodeo. I prepared 12 BRF jars and 12 bird seed jars that I made myself and inoculated the 12 OUTGROW bags, BRF jars and the 12 bird seed jars. All of my home made jars showed growth after 3-4 days and were fully colonized within ten days. I FINALLY got some growth on 2 of the OUTGROW bags in 14-16 days! Here I am a month into it and my jars have already been moved to bulk substrate in mono-tubs. The OUTGROW bags are still struggling to grow and have only colonized a very small portion of the bags, maybe a spot about 2 inches square. I called the customer service number and left a detailed message about the issues I was having. I also sent them an E-mail on their website. I haven't gotten a reply in 2 weeks now. I didn't want to write a bad review. Actually this is my first bad review of any of the products on Amazon. I guess I'm out the $100 I spent on the Sterilized Rye Grain bags from OUTGROW and also the money for the spore syringes! Two out of twelve bags that are struggling to grow and will most likely be tossed in the compost pile. POOR PRODUCT AND NO CUSTOMER SERVICE! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!

Nice large clean bag of grain for growing your mushrooms! I recently bought two of these and there has been no problems at all with either one. Also bought one of the smaller bags offered on Amazon, and there has been no problem with it either. The larger bags are definitely easier to handle and you wont accidentally stick your syringe needle through as you could in the smaller bags. Guess it’s a personal thing. The important thing is you being careful. I take an alcohol soaked paper towel and wipe rubber gloves, my hands, the syringe, needle package, work area….everything. Wipe it all down. With a clean work area and no draft or anything to stir up the air, you are now ready. Wipe rubber gloves again once they are on your hands. Don’t forget to wear a mask! I like to also have ready a new clean large gallon ziplock bag to keep the purchased grain bag in while the micillicm begins to grow, just an extra precaution. Also have some sterile white breathable medical tape. Upon carefully removing the hypodermic needle from its pack, you will need to carefully remove the protective syringe cap from it. Do not touch the now exposed tip, set it down on your clean work area. Taking the needle I advise you to use a torch or lighter to it once you have screwed it onto the syringe…. Red hot is advised. Wipe any black soot from the needle with your alcohol paper towel. Now it is ready to safely proceed. Have a piece of the new clean tape 1/2 way attached to the new grain bag at the port site. Once you inject the contents press the other half of the tape against the port location as you remove the needle. This should prevent any contamination from sneaking in. I like to move the needle around carefully while it is in the bag port to help move the spores around. I also like to carefully and lightly move the grains around in the bag once they have been injected. This will make the spores more broke up and will be less likely to clump. Which isn’t a problem just another personal preference. The micillicm seems to spread quicker when doing this. Do this for several days or a week. My grains are now showing clean white micillicm after 2 1/2 weeks. The bags will be fully growing 30 days from now, or less. Hope this is helpful. The product is pretty expensive compared to other ones like it. That's the the only reason I gave it 4 starts instead of 5. Other then that I have bought 3 bags and they have all worked great! The mosture content in the grain was perfect and they colonized very quickly. I recommend this product.
