Perfect for smoothies. If you have them too long they will become brittle. I have a few stragglers from an old package and if they bend in the slightest they crack rendering them useless but use new for about 6 months they are perfect.

I make a breakfast smoothie for myself and my daughter every morning before she leaves for school. I was pretty unhappy with the waste that was being created, and decided to try to find another option... reusable straws aren't really a great option for smoothies and kids. These are a great size. A little bit wider than a typical restaurant straw, which makes them perfect for our smoothies. I think I will keep this brand in stock here at home. It's a relief knowing they are compostable and I can rest a little easier about the waste factor.

I have been buying these staws for my shakes for a couple years. They hold up, but compost-no plastic! I tried other straws that cracked,bent, or had a smell/flavor. These straws are the best, they can slurp up a thick shake and hold strong, no flavors or odors. No environmental damage/guilt! 10/10 best straws!!!

I love these straws and have recommended them to folks. They all loved them. They COULD be perfect if you could pick your own color combos, and if the box wasn’t taped closed with some kind of space shuttle strength tape. Otherwise perfect.

these straws are large for smoothies/ protein shakes and can replace the hard plastic straws in my reusable bottles. The texture feels close to plastic without any taste. They hold up throughout the day and I haven't tried to compost them yet, but in the spring they are going in the garden bin. I will buy these again!
