Lisle 20580 InLine Spark Tester w/Coil On Plug Wire, One Size, Factory

Bottom line up front, if you're considering buying an inline spark (plug) tester, I highly recommend buying the Lisle version. Sure, you'll spend a bit more on it. For me, it was a "one time use" purchase however this was my *second* purchase because I bought another much cheaper brand the was broken upon arrival. In short, I didn't save any money buying the more affordable version. This Lisle tool is as all others have said, a very solid product with a bulb you can actual find and replace. It is well made, durable and will last for many years of use I'm sure.

Enhancing my work routine, this little device lets me quickly confirm if the engine has a spark without taking out the plug. Instead of fiddling or guessing, I connect it inline, start the engine, and can instantly see if everything's good. It really streamlines my repairs and saves me time. I'm glad I decided to try it.

I find this device really helpful when I need to quickly see if my small engine has spark. It’s much easier than removing the spark plug and trying to hold it against the engine case. Connecting it inline to the spark plug and cranking the engine gives me instant confirmation if there’s spark or not. It’s a simple improvement that saves me time and hassle.

Included wires are too short for two of my spark plugs. Could not go down far enough into the hole to reach the plug. So, I made my own from an old wire set I keep as spares. I simply cut off the distributor end of a spare wire with the longer reach and crimped a terminal and spark plug boot I scavenged from some older wires. My spare wires were variable pitch wires that have similar resistance to the Lisle wires. All I needed from the Lisle kit was the bulb holder. Allowed me to test each plug and worked well.

Deciding whether a small engine has spark is much quicker with this device. It's a lot simpler than removing the spark plug and trying to position it against the engine case. Just connect this inline to the spark plug, start the engine, and you quickly see if there's spark. It makes testing much easier and faster.

This device saves so much time trying to determine if a small engine has spark. It is so much easier than pulling the spark plug and trying to prop it up against the case of the engine to see if it has spark. Just hook this up inline to the spark plug, crank the engine, and get immediate feedback that spark is present. This is great.
