Bestway Steel Pro MAX 10’ x 6'7" x 33" Oval Above Ground Pool Set, Pump

We absolutely love how this pool turned out in our backyard! We had a relatively small space available, and the 14 x 8 ft size ended up being perfect. The height is also ideal for kids—not too deep, but not too shallow either. Assembly was actually pretty easy. It took approximately 1.5 hours with two people, and the instructions were clear and easy to follow. For some extra stability, we placed small pavers underneath the pool legs, which worked really well. We also highly recommend putting foam floor tiles underneath the pool to create a protective and cushioned layer between the pool liner and the ground or grass. It makes the bottom feel much softer and more comfortable when walking inside the pool. For our 14 x 8 ft pool, we used 24 foam floor tiles measuring 24 x 24 inches each. Since the tiles are completely hidden underneath the pool, you can buy them in any color. We chose the pink ones simply because they were the best price at the time! It took us approximately 6 hours to completely fill the pool. The included pump works well and seems perfectly adequate for the size of the pool. We have also been having fun adding some extras. We installed lights and other accessories, we are currently adding a fountain, and our next project is to build a more stable and accessible staircase. The ladder included with the pool is functional and works fine, but we personally want something a little more sturdy and easier to use. I also highly recommend purchasing a pool cover. It really helps keep the water clean and protects the pool from leaves, insects, and small animals when it is not being used. Overall, we are extremely happy with this purchase. The size and height are perfect for our family, assembly was simple, the included pump works well, and the price was excellent for what you get. We’ve really enjoyed turning this pool into a fun little backyard oasis and would definitely recommend it!

This pool is amazing!! It’s sturdy, the stairs are sturdy and lightweight to move in and out of the pool easily. We take the. Out while we’re swimming. It’s deep enough to do a front flip underwater. I’ve seen a lot of comments about the filter not being strong enough for this pool. We have had this pool up for about a month and a half using the filter that it came with along with chlorine tablets in a floater and shocking the pool as needed, and also stabilizer. These are things everyone should be using in their above ground pool if it’s going to be up for a long time. I run the filter 12 hours every evening and scoop any bugs out with a net and we put a cover on it overnight. We have had no issues whatsoever with this filter. You do have to change the cartridge every couple of weeks and rinse it out every week, but this is standard for any filter cartridge type pump. Also, before you turn the pump on every day, you need to unscrew the little notch on the top and make sure you bleed out any air. This is also standard practice, not something special for this pump. If you want to spend the extra money to buy a bigger pump, then you should definitely do so. But as long as you’re taking care of your pool, the way you’re supposed to be taking care of your pool. This pump is definitely sufficient.

The pool was straightforward to assemble, even by myself, although having a second person would certainly make the job easier. All the frame tubes are clearly labeled with letters, which takes much of the guesswork out of assembly. Just make absolutely sure the ground is level before you begin. The included pump is not really up to the job, and I replaced mine almost immediately. The hoses use plastic clamps that aren’t particularly effective; I had to tape a couple of the connections to stop them leaking. The hoses are also only just long enough, leaving very little slack for sensible routing. Despite those issues, I’m very happy with the pool itself. It’s a great size for relaxing and cooling down in the garden without committing to a full-size pool (or spending $40,000!!). With a better pump and improved hose connections, it has been exactly what I wanted.

We wanted something to cool off on our 90° plus days…. Surprised my husband when he came home from his trip! I am 54 year old Female and put it together myself! We did already have a concrete slab where I was putting the pool so did not need to worry about evening out the ground. (Please note, I am good, and well first at building things and putting furniture together, etc.). But with that being said, the directions were very clear and was easy to put together regardless. I ordered thick connecting pads to put under it for softness. Due to the reviews, I did order a different sand pump. I cannot comment on the pump that came with it due to the fact that I didn’t hook that one up. It’s been just over a month, chemicals have kept water clean, stable and no film or buildup. We’ve already been floating in it!

Sturdy little plunge pool, easy set up for 2 people. Definitely upgrade to a 10inch sand/ball filter. Nice cool down decision without the built in cost.

If you’re thinking about getting this pool and you have limited mobility, do not get it. The ladder is the pits. Could they have gone any cheaper on it? Not well thought out. It might be sturdy and it might hold weight but trying to get in and out of the pool again with limited mobility is very difficult. They could’ve made the steps wider. They could’ve added extra steps. They could’ve made the handles at the top higher. They could’ve put a platform at the top to stand on. There’s so many things they could’ve done with that ladder and they didn’t. The pump is in adequate. I upgraded to another one right off the bat. I installed valves on the inlet and the outlet so I could use a vacuum and service the pump. The pool itself is really sturdy. I’ve had it for several years. It doesn’t leak and it’s held up to my nephews and their rough housing, but it’s the accessories that Bestway went cheap on. They could’ve done better or even offered upgrade accessories for the pool. I got hurt early in the fall of last year and because of that I was not able to drain the pool and dismantle it so I did the next thing I put chemicals in a pool pillow and covered it. Fingers crossed it holds up this season. Bestway do better a pool is more than just a container that holds water. It’s all that extra stuff that goes into it that makes it a really nice pool for the family.

We are on our third year with this pool. We have started to see a little wear and tear catching up with the pool. So, the plastic hoses have all basically dry rotted (as to be expected after so long) and we are in the process of trying to find new ones. The challenge is finding some that fit! The pool started to get a little rusty around the metal so we sprayed it with some rust protecting spray paint . The pool ladder is rusting a bit too. I absolutely do recommend this pool. We have been using it all summer and during winter we drain it with a pump (we leave just enough water to keep the pool from blowing away in a tornado or high winds) and we try to cover it. To keep your pool crystal clear in the summer I do recommend using a bigger pool pump, changing filters every day and turn on the pump for 8 to 10 hours every day. I use arm and hammer crystal balance tablets and chlorine tablets. I break off a tiny piece if those tablets and put them in the little floating tablet holder… almost every day. That keeps the pool clean and clear all summer. I cover the pool at night to keep the bugs and leaves out. I’ve been using a tarp because the pool covers I’ve found just kind of suck.

Purchased the pool in 2023. I’ve had it up each year this year. It developed a leak between the seams so the liner is bad so effectively got three good years out of it. Positive is about the pool is that it’s easy to set up. The steel frame is pretty durable. Kids have been doing flips and stuff off of the steel frames. They haven’t bent it. It is a tad small. It was OK for two kids under the age of 10 as they’ve gotten older, it’s definitely felt a lot smaller. The pump is absolutely horrible. That thing goes straight into the trash. You need to buy yourself a sand filtered pump. Another negative is a one on the company’s website trying to find a replacement liner. I could not successfully find one and I feel like it’d be a waste to buy a whole new set up for the price they’re asking. Overall happy with the purchase though I’m giving it three stars because the pump was absolutely horrible and the company isn’t having an available replacement liner.
