From Temu Disappointments to a Real Drone Experience - Worth Every Penny ๐
After wasting money on several cheap knockoff drones from TikTok Shop and Temu, I finally decided to try the Holy Stone HS720G after watching a YouTube review showing how beginner friendly it was right out of the box. Honestly, this is the first drone I've owned that actually feels REAL. The packaging was simple and straightforward, everything was clearly labeled, and the instruction manual was detailed while still being easy to understand and apply. The app was also surprisingly easy to navigate and set up. My first flight was actually at night, and while the camera picked up a lot, I was worried because I couldn't see great detail. The next day I flew it again during daylight and was honestly blown away. The camera footage appeared to be true 4K quality with impressive detail and clarity. Compared to the blurry footage from cheaper drones, this thing hit every mark. What impressed me most was the stability. Previous drones I owned couldn't even hover properly before drifting away or losing control. The HS720G hovered perfectly, responded smoothly, and felt stable and reliable in the air. As a beginner, that instantly boosted my confidence. The gimbal stabilization is excellent, and the controller itself feels high quality and comfortable to use. Flight time was about as advertised, around 20 minutes on a full charge. I also really appreciated the automatic Return-to-Home feature when the battery got low. That gave me a lot more confidence while flying. I did test the Follow Me mode, and it worked flawlessly. I can absolutely see this being a great tool for content creators who want hands-free footage for social media, travel videos, outdoor adventures, or other creative projects. A couple small things buyers should know: โข Initial battery charge time was around 5 hours. โข I definitely wish it came with extra batteries. โข I briefly lost connection around 380 feet away, but I still need more flight testing overall. โข I haven't had the opportunity to test it in windy conditions yet. One bonus surprise was the carrying case. It actually feels premium with a soft suede-like texture instead of feeling cheap. One very important note for new drone owners: This is not a toy. It is considered a UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) by the FAA. Before your first flight, you should complete the TRUST (The Recreational UAS Safety Test) certification course, which is completely free. You will also need to register the drone with the FAA before flying. Failure to follow FAA regulations can result in significant fines. The process is straightforward, but it's something every new drone owner should be aware of before taking off. Overall, this drone exceeded my expectations. It's a fantastic entry point into drones for beginners or for anyone tired of wasting money on those cheap "too good to be true" online drones. Finally a drone that feels real, worth every penny, and a great introduction to the world of drones.

Great Features for a Mid-priced Drone
So this is my first mid-sized video drone and even though I have some flying experience with Mini-drones under the 249g weight class, I consider myself a beginner. I ordered this after seeing some reviews on YouTube and other popular locations. After I received the package, I was pleasantly surprised. The packaging was very high-end. The complete drone kit came in a well made and designed high-end zippered case with form fitting cutouts inside. The kit included drone, a remote controller, a single battery and charging cable, spare props and screws, user manual and misc. warning cards. Setup was fairly simple. The manual outlined the procedure to power the drone, pair it with the remote, log onto WiFi, calibration and flight precheck and liftoff. Because this drone weighs more than 249g, you will be required to register it with the FAA here in the USA, along with taking and completing your TRUST test, assuming you are using this for recreational purposes and not commercial. The Part 107 will cover Commercial registration and use and both procedures are covered on the FAA Drone website. After downloading the recommended App (Ophelia FLY) to my Galaxy Note 20 phone, I started out with some fairly basic flights to ensure everything was functioning as intended. The drone seemed quite responsive, and fairly easy to fly. I had no issues with connecting the drone to the remote and App, viewing or saving the video (I used a recommended 128Gbyte memory card inserted in the drone) or landing back to my original take-off point. Things I like: Well made and solid construction Easy to Check-list and Fly Very Nice carry case Spare parts included Responsive Customer Service 2 Gimble camera with EIS (like having a 3 Gimble system) Things I don't like: Only a single battery included Approximately 5 hour charge time for about 25 minutes flight No Prop Guards included or available for purchase that I can tell Drone DOES NOT have Remote ID that will be required in the USA after September 2023 Remote Control will not accommodate my Galaxy Note 20 phone with the case on. No landing skids so the drone belly sits in the grass and causes interference with the props Overall View: For the money, this is a good buy in my opinion and I would recommend it based on my experience so far. It seems like this will be a good learning drone for me. Holy Stone Customer Service assures me that a Remote ID solution is being reviewed by the FAA and will be available to Holy Stone Customers very soon.

Fun to Fly
Would give it 5 stars if you could see the information displayed on the transmitter better. Really hard to see in any kind of light. That being said I love this drone. Excellent for a beginner like me. Good video, stable and I thought it pretty easy to fly.

Excellent Drone at a Great Price
The Holy Stone HS720G is a super nice little drone at a super price. It is easy to fly, and there are many things I really love about it. Pros: 1: Super easy to fly. Right out of the gate the first thing about this drone that makes it a great deal is how easy it is to fly. 2: Easy integration with the app. It hooks up well with the accompanying app, and works well off of the phoneโs wifi 3: ROCK STEADY! This is perhaps my favorite โproโ about this little drone. It is super solid in the air. It hovers in spot perfectly when you arenโt touching the controls no matter what height you are at. 4: Clear, sharp images. The camera is excellent on this drone and the gimble is steady and keeps the picture level really well. It is a 2 axis gimble, Iโd love to see a 3 axis gimble on a future model. The images transmitted direct to phone are lovely and do fine in almost any circumstances, but the drone also comes with an SD slot (SD card not included), and it stores all of the video/picture images on the SD card as well, and those are a higher quality so you can have perfect images easily. 5: Very responsive and quick. 6: Great battery life. The battery lasts 20 minutes even in the extreme heat and humidity in Fl in the summer. 7: Very nice case 8: Compact and easy to carry anywhere 9: Great tracking features available, but I havenโt really tested them out just yet. They arenโt something I personally use much, but having them available is a great asset for those times they are needed. It has all the high-end drone features youโd expect including: Follow Me, Waypoints, and Point of Interest. All easily programmable in the app. 10: Customer service is easy to contact and quick to respond to issues. Cons: Like anything there are always going to be some things that youโll find donโt quite meet expectations. There arenโt many things about the HS720G that fall into that category, but here are a couple Iโve found after a couple weeks of flying it. 1: The phone holder isnโt big enough for a large phone. I have a phone that is just maybe 1/8th of an inch too wide to fit well into the holder. It gets in there but pops out at any movement whatsoever. I end up strapping the phone to my arm so I can try and keep an eye on the flight or click on something in the app. Itโs harder to use that way, but at least itโs close. 2: This will only impact US buyers, but the new law for remote ID in the US and the fact that this drone is heavy enough (barely) that it requires registration means it will require the new remote ID capability and it isnโt equipped with that internally, so an additional unit will be required to attach to the drone to make it compliant. 3: Range. It has decent but not remarkable range. It does return to home when signal is lost though and does it very well. I am able to fly up to 250 feet altitude before having connection issues, and up to 800 feet horizontally before starting to experience signal loss. 4: While the battery lasts a solid 20 minutes easily, it also takes a very long time to charge. It tends to take 5 to 6 hours for a full charge. Overall, if youโre looking for a great drone that wonโt break the bank, this is a very good choice.

Unbeatable in this price range for amateur, recreational drone enthusiasts.
- This is my second drone from Holy Stone. I had an HS700 that I enjoyed for years though I did replace the camera with a GoPro Hero 4 (it had a built-in cradle for camera swaps). It was time to upgrade to something not quite as bulky but still wanted to remain in the low to mid-price range. My drone arrived yesterday and immediately I was impressed with the case. Suede like feel, sturdy and compact (my old drone didn't come with the carrying case). I charged up the battery and got a bit of flight time in this morning before the weather got ugly. Of course, I added this drone to my FAA Registration account, added the label and off I went (I have a TRUST Certificate). The controller is a HUGE improvement over my previous drone. The sticks are accurate and responsive. The LCD screen has pertinent information and is easy to read. My phone sat well in the cradle to use the app. Pairing and calibration went through easily, I was in a wide-open field and I didn't have any trouble picking up satellites even with some cloud cover. I recommend the 'B4UFLY' app to ensure you are in legal airspace (always check with FAA Regs). I flew for about 10 minutes just manually getting used to the controls and the speed. This thing was very stable, much smoother making directional changes and picking up speed than my last drone. Then I only briefly tried 'Tap Fly' and 'Follow Me' in the app for another 10 minutes or so, both worked exactly as I commanded in the app. I hit the return home as the battery was getting low and it landed about a foot and half away from my pad, maybe a little less. Not bad, it was cloudy, misty and a breeze was picking up. The optical flow feature is a definite plus for landing. I think most of my crashes with my last drone were during landing. Watch out where you land. My HS700 had large landing gear, clearing the grass. This just has small rubber pads, and the props seem very delicate (comes with a spare set). - Camera - It takes decent quality images and video from what I can tell as I'm checking it out now. Recorded seamlessly to the micro-SD. I'm comparing this to my last drone so I'm sure the more expensive drones have higher quality cameras, but the footage is crisp and MUCH more stable than my HS700, even with the Hero 4. I'm cleaning some minor stuff up in editing and smoothing out the corners a bit (still shots too). Not a lot of adjustment options to the camera so it's pretty basic but if you like tinkering in post edit, you can make improvements, but they aren't absolutely necessary so far. I mainly use my drones for vacation and hiking spots (when legally able). - Couple more things, I flew for about 22 minutes on a charge (had a little left). It was about 40 degrees F outside, bit of a breeze with approaching rain. I'm used to carrying around a bulky drone and doing a lot of post edit with my last one. This is nice and compact and the image quality with enhanced stabilization are big improvements over my old drone. Yeah, I wish I could attach larger landing gear for field landings but I'll manage with my landing pad. Plus, I got a lot more room in my trunk now. I got this at a great price during a lightening deal, you can't beat the value versus features. I shopped this with the Ruko GIM2 (I never got a hands-on test), just based it on features, price and reviews. The Ruko has a much greater flight distance but no optical flow from what I've seen. I can't legally go that far (FAA Reg.) anyhow so the Holy Stone was the choice, plus I have found the customer service email responsive and friendly. I didn't have issues with the WiFi dropping but again, I didn't test the limits and stayed within FAA distance regulations. I wish it had another battery but at this price, I think they were keeping it cheaper with the one battery. The Ruko has two in the package but is considerably more money depending on the sale you manage to get. - Ultimately this drone serves it's purpose for me, great features at a great price. It's a legitimate GPS drone and not a cheap toy, I look forward to getting out there with better weather and a more scenic location. I'll try to upload some shots when I do.

THIS is the drone you want to get! The Holy Stone HS720g, an excellent drone!!
OK, to start off, I was debating between this one and a Tizzytoy 4K, 5GHz, GPS drone. I ended up getting the TizzyToy one to start out. The Tizzytoy one appears to have a few more features than this one, but in the end, the features are nearly the same. Some features that this drone has, that are not listed on the Amazon page are as follows: โข This done does actually have a second, always downward-facing camera for it's optical flow mode. You cannot switch to it (at least I haven't found a way yet) in the app, but it is there. โข This drone does have a 2 axis gimbal camera (be very careful when removing and replacing the gimbal cover, and remember to remove it before flying, and I'd recommend replacing it when not flying), but you only get to control one axis (camera looking straight ahead to straight down - 90ยบ). This is a really cool feature though, because it allows the camera to be automatically stabilized by using the other axis during flight. I watched the camera stay aimed right where I put it while strafing the drone left and right, it was pretty cool to watch! โข While it says it comes with a battery, it does, however only one, and it is for the drone only. However, what is not mentioned is that if you download their app for your cell phone ("Ophelia Fly" app) and click on the "Photo" tab, there is a small link/graphic in the upper left corner which says "Get Free Battery", and if you tap it and send the email, then follow the instructions in the reply, it will tell you what to do to receive a second drone battery for free! Please note though, the remote control does not come with batteries and it takes two AA batteries. Much better than a rechargeable remote though IMO (like the Tizzytoy), which will eventually become garbage when it will no longer hold a charge. โข The final feature that is not listed on the Amazon page is that the HS720g has 5x zoom capability on the camera. This feature appears to only be available via the cell phone app, not via the remote control. In testing this drone and the TizzyToy one, this drone is much more stable (possibly because it is larger/heavier, and yes, you need to register this drone, whereas the TizzyToy one does not need to be registered) and it lands more "softly" by design. The biggest plus I have found as a novice drone flyer is HEADLESS MODE! All I can say is if you're like me (controlling your drone mainly by sight), USE IT! No matter which way the drone is facing, if I pull the right control stick toward me, the drone comes toward me. If I push the left control stick away from me, no matter which way the drone is facing, it moves away from me. Now, if you're flying FPV (First Person View) through your cell phone, then you will NOT want to use headless mode. But flying by sight, using the remote control, and not your cell phone's FPV, I find headless mode much more logical/easy. All of that to say that the HS720g is an excellent drone and is very fun to fly. I hope this review is helpful to others. P.S. Try to get it on sale if you can. I saw it listed for $209 over Christmas and I'm still kicking myself for not having picked it up then. I managed to snag it at 27% off though, which I believe is still well worth it!

Fantastic bang for your buck- would highly recommend
I was looking for my first drone to buy. I wanted something good, but wasn't ready to invest fully in the hobby. After a lot of research comparing different models from different manufacturers, I settled on the HS720G. I couldn't be happier with the purchase! The features are fantastic for the price point. Setting up the drone for the first use was very simple. The manual laid out the instructions clearly, and the instructions are also conveniently on a card that comes with it. I do feel that the gimbal cover latch could be improved slightly, as I'm always a bit worried when putting on or taking off the cover that I might damage it as it does move the gimbal a bit. The calibration steps were quick and easy. By the time the calibration steps were done, it was already tracking 17 satellites for GPS. Connecting to the app was quick and easy. The app is fairly intuitive, and it has convenient access to drone information and settings. Overall I found it easy to use, although there are a couple places where the English translation wasn't perfect. I appreciate the full access to camera settings such as brightness, contrast, ISO, and white balance. The drone is very easy to fly. Taking off is simple with the auto takeoff/land function. The drone is very stable, even in a light breeze. The controller is slightly uncomfortable for someone with big hands, but the controls are easy to use. The drone is very responsive and behaves as expected. The buttons on the controller are conveniently placed and the display is easy to read. The mount for your phone for use with the app works well, but if you have a big phone the buttons for the camera and speed adjustment may be under the edges of your phone and a bit hard to press. I'm very pleased with the GPS-based navigation modes. All of them (Orbit, Follow Me, TapFly) worked very well and were easy to set up and use with the app. I was also very pleased with the Return to Home feature- it is easy to configure, and every time I've used it the drone returned to within about 1.5 feet of the spot it took off from. I've heard from others that other drones don't return to home anywhere near as accurately as this one. I'm satisfied with the camera. The gimbal is very good- the image is very smooth, even when moving quickly side-to-side or if the breeze picks up. It's 4K and the quality is good, but it is not an expensive photography drone- if you're not expecting that, you won't be disappointed. The battery life was as advertised. The first few flights were about 25 minutes (give or take) on one charge, which matches the advertised 26 minutes. The drone returned to home automatically when the battery got low as it was supposed to. With the exception of obstacles, you shouldn't lose your drone due to low battery (and the altitude at which it returns to home is configurable, so obstacles shouldn't be a problem if set up correctly). In summary, I'm very happy with the HS720G. I don't think I could find a better drone without paying a lot more, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to get started with the hobby whose budget is around this price. Can't wait to fly it some more!

First GPS drone, great value for the money.
I've been flying RC planes since the 80s so I figured at the young age of 67 I should get a Drone with GPS in it. I did a ton of research and had a couple of E-mails back and forth with "Captain Drone" who did a couple of reviews of the Holy Stone 720-G Drone on YouTube. I kicked around getting a DJI, but for me, I didn't really want to fork out that kind of money. The Holy Stone 720-G is a great beginner drone for less than $300 and if you use "Captain Drone's" link you'll get an extra discount. It was VERY easy to bind the Drone to the transmitter, when you link it to your phone for WiFi, download "Ophilia FLY" GPS APP, you'll want to disconnect ALL your other WiFi connections on your phone. I was fortunate that I had kept an old Galaxy S8 and just use it for the "Ophilia FLY" GPS APP. This drone is fairly easy to fly, and if your in a big area it's almost impossible to crash it, as it has a return to home button, but also, you can just hold down the left "throttle" stick and it will land directly below where ever it's flying. It takes a while to figure out the Photo/Video settings(like trying to figure out why the drone camera was displaying upside down on my phone), but the phone and transmitter screens have icons to help. I was happy with the video and photos I took (even though I didn't know what I was doing yet) and they came out pretty good. In short, for less than $300 it's seems to be a very well built drone, I just wish it either came with two batteries or the cost would come down as they're 1/3 the cost of the drone. I will tell you, the biggest conn I have is that its takes several hours to charge the battery as it charges through a standard USB cable. this is incredibly frustrating for me, because I can charge a 6S 5000Mah LiPo battery for my RC planes in less than an hour with my smart charger.

Excellent Features - ALMOST the Best Drone Money Can Buy
I've flown drones for MANY MANY YEARS, here is what I have to say for anyone considering a HS720G PROS: - Excellent Battery life, lasts me between 21-23 minutes depending on flight conditions like wind and altitude. (Enough to film my grandma walking to school :)) - like LITERALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO LOOSE DRONE, has all the features found on higher end drones such as return to home, automatic landing button as well as automatically returning if controller disconnects/battery dies. (Trust me its a great feeling to take off without any doubt of your drone shooting off into the sky! And it will return to you if it somehow does) - Phone holder for controller is a little gimmicky, but suits most of my larger phones in their cases - The app is great for beginners with plenty of tutorials for the common interface. The controller telemetry is quite helpful as well. App lets me set a height limit to suit flying laws (Tells you range, battery life, number of satellites/GPS Strength, etc.) - The Gimbal gives extremely stable footage compared to other drones - Stable flight with accurate GPS, even has optical flow for indoors where there isn't as much GPS strength. - The case it comes in is truly premium to the touch. Unlike some other drones, this one has everything you need to takeoff in one place making it neat for travel/camping with friends CONS: - The video feed is great at up to 200-300 meters, then starts cutting out, my solution is to just use a Micro SD card (located on side of drone) for higher quality footage - Comes with one battery, will need to purchase more on amazon for double the fun! - Battery takes a little long to charge, but again it lasts for over 20 minutes and you can always buy more - The gimbal on the HS720G is 2-axis, meaning it doesn't insulate the 3rd axis (yaw) movement with the drone. - I'm sure lots of people would be willing to pay a slightly higher price to add the obstacle avoidance feature, one that would save me countless heartbreaks of needing to refit the spare propellors (Supplied with the drone) - I wish they sold additional accessories specifically for this drone such as remote release payload (obviously for really light objects), extendable landing gears, UV/ND Filters for different environmental lighting conditions, etc Otherwise, the drone is pretty rugged and has great capabilities. Despite lacking some of those extra features from a more professional standpoint, I would absolutely recommend it for those wanting to get started with drone photography, videography, or even just improving their drone movement dynamics. ...From a beginners/Intermediate standpoint, this is THE MOST FUN DRONE you'll ever have with the low irrefutable price its sold at. Thanks for reading my review, I hope it helped you make an informed decision Kind Regards, Steven G - Australian Holystone Reviewer

The HS720G. Best budget drone 2023
The Holystone HS720g is an impressive drone that offers an outstanding flying experience. Its sleek design and sturdy build inspire confidence while soaring in the sky. The 4K UHD camera captures breathtaking aerial footage and delivers crisp images. With a flight time of around 26 minutes, it provides ample opportunities for exploration. The GPS-assisted smart features, like follow-me mode and return-to-home, ensure smooth and safe flights. The controller is user-friendly, making it accessible for both beginners and experienced pilots. However, some may find the video stabilization slightly lacking in windy conditions. Overall, the HS720g is a solid choice for those seeking a high-quality drone with advanced functionalities.

Impressive drone!
I am very impressed with this drone, the video/photo quality is great. Video stability is excellent. Hovers nicely, when the wind picks up it is very quiet twitchy but the drone does a decent job with stabilising itself. Maiden flight was great, charging up the battery for a longer run. Very cool drone and the price good for this type of drone

Total Garbage and false advertising
This drone does not work as advertised and is just a garbage product. When it goes rogue and wont respond when flying, i warn you dont get close to this thing as it could take your eye out! When the drone hits an obsticle of crashes the props just keep spinning and i physically had to pick it up while operating to remove the battery to turn it off.

Good entry level drone at a great price
Easy setup, very straight forward. Haven't used it much yet but seems stable and does as advertised. Image stabilisation is great and good image quality. Feature packed.
