7 O'Clock PII Trac II Razor + cartridge with 5 pcs

Nice little razor. It feels like an old single blade razor from back when I first started shaving a hundred years ago. Nice, smooth shave. Of course, the value is fantastic. One blade attached already and five included for such a low price. Are you kidding me? This is probably my last new razor. Thanks!

Normally I use a DE razor and one of the great PPI blades, but for traveling it is just easier to take something "modern" along. I tested several cart-type razors for travel purposes and this 70'clock model has come out on top in initial testing. A brief summary of what I've tried before it: - Gillette Mach 3: I used this for years when it first came out. During that time I never really "knew" how to shave, I just plastered on a handful of canned goop, then raked it off in a single north/south pass. Many years later I bought a current iteration of this razor and just didn't care for it. The goo strip they put on the carts are a gimmick. The pivoting head, which I thought was an advantage when the Mach 3 was first introduced, actually gave me less flexibility in making small angle adjustments during the shave. The post-shave feel was "meh", lacking the glassy smooth finish I am accustomed to from DE. I felt further passes or buffing would just introduce irritation in my quest for closeness. When finished I tossed it in a drawer. Bic Metal: This is a single blade, fixed head disposable razor. The first problem with this razor is it is simply too light and too small. I'm not a fan of mega heavy razors but this sits far on the opposite side of the scale and feels more like a cheap toy. Not effective for buffing the tough, trouble spots at the base of the jaw line. These might work if you needed something to shave with and had nothing else to use and better than a sharp rock, but not by much. Gillette Guard: This is a single blade, pivoting head cart razor sold exclusively overseas in mainly third world markets and made available through certain sellers on big box store ecommerce websites. I might consider it the closest runner up to the 7O'clock razor, but it too suffers from being a little too light, and the pivoting head design introduces some of the same issues I have with the Mach 3. Advantages are that it's cheap and its large lather channel reduces or eliminates clogging. Getting close with this one but not quite. That brings me to the 7O'clock twin blade, fixed head cart razor. My first shave with it provided a satisfyingly close shave with C.O. Bigelow shave cream. Of course it's a predominantly plastic razor, but it doesn't have the cheap, light feeling of some of the other cart razors I tested. After many years of shaving with DE and SE razors, its fixed head felt more natural to use, allowing tiny angle variations that aren't thwarted by a pivoting head design. The blades are satisfactorily sharp and I had no issues with tugging or any post-shave irritation. The razor shipped under ten bucks with 6 carts, so the economy is there. As a travel razor for someone that normally shaves daily with a DE, this razor was the winner.

It has a Solid handle not weak and decent sharpness.

I decided to get this, rather than the new ugly Sensor Excel handle. Well worth the money. The plating is not as nice as razors used to be, but everything feels solid. Blades are basic but sharp and shave well. It's a little different without the pivoting head, but easy to get used to. I don't think the cartridges will give as many shaves as Sensor Excell (back in the day), but no complaints.

Have been using the Trac II razors for many, many years and in my opinion they shave more thoroughly and precise than any of the Multi-Blade razors. Highly recommend!

These days you four five and even six blades.. so un necessary..the two blade system is the best by far… you know what they say if it isn’t broke don’t fix it… this razor is metal and easy to travel with.. blades are much cheaper than todays razors and last longer on the razor… I noticed these razor are disappearing in local stores thank god for Amazon!! I would high recommend this razor… it is truly the best a man can get!!! This razor also works well for women.. my wife uses the same razor I do.. we absolutely love this razor!!!

I used Gillette Trac II blades years ago but for some reason I switched to some of the cheaper brands. Some were pretty good and others were fair at best and none of them lasted more than 4 shaves without dragging and causing cuts. So I went back to these Gillette Trac II blades with the light plastic handle and I'll never buy the other brands again. They are sharp and they give me a week's worth of shaves, at least.

I bought this as an alternative to the cartridge razors that use pivot heads. I tried Mach 3, Sensor, and Skin Guard, and still found myself getting better, closer shaves with the plastic disposable, non-pivoting Sensor 2. Though Skin Guard, I have to admit, is not half bad. This product I just bought, the 7 o'clock trac II, apparently manufactured in India, could not be worse: the blades are dull, the dullest I ever came across, and it hardly cuts any facial hair, unless you press hard and end up with razor burn. Awful. Deserves less than one star. My next move in the search for a smooth shave will be to leave cartridge razors behind and to pick up the Leaf Twig, single edge.
