whats better the phosphate-free or standard versions for rifle brass?

Can this be used to clean copper?

I use it to clean copper, works very well. Will remove any patina so using on antique copper items may not be the way to go.

Anyone try this on gun parts? bcg's, pistol parts, etc? safe for various finishes? I was thinking of trying with a little dawn in my Ultrasonic...

Do not use it for gun parts. It will strip the bluing. I don't know about cerokote or duracoat though. But I still use it for cleaning brass for reloading. For gun parts I found Simple Green or Castro Super Clean solutions works great. Just be sure to do a complete rinse and air dry with compress air. Then re-lube with your favorite gun oil.
