CONSIDER FIRST: RS-422 ? Protocol ? and Speed ? of your cameras
After getting this product, realized that it only had RS-232 and RS-422 circuit type control.RS-232 is very old technology and has distance and noise limitations.RS-422 is better, but still old technology and limited with 4 wire, possible distance and noise and control limitations under some conditions. The ONLY way to go these day, is with RS-485 ... 2 wire, almost unlimited distance, has extensive multi-point and circuit capabilities, and virtually no noise concerns. However, this expensive controller does NOT have RS-485 ?? and only has VISCA protocol, no Pelco-D or Pelco-P protocol. It does have some nice features like speed control and lighted cam and preset buttons, that is if your cameras happen to use RS-422 or are the expensive SONY cameras. We tried a RS-422 to RS-485 Converter using VISCA protocol which still did not work. ?? with other non- Sony VISCA protocol cameras.Must be a unique proprietary SONY VISCA protocol that was not compatible with other cameras.

Wrong picture!
I've used the RM-BR300. It is a wonderful tool!I sold the one I had years ago because I wasn't using it any more. Now I have a need and so I just bought another one through Nextag.I'm not sure now how I ended up here but you can imagine how my heart sunk when I saw this picture associated with what I bought. My new joystick has not come in yet and this picture creates doubt in my mind that I actually bought the right thing.I realize anyone can make a mistake. On that same token, I felt it was important to point out the mistake. The picture of this listing is wrong. If you want to know what a RM-BR300 looks like, do a Google Image Search. I don't know what this is a picture of but if I end up with it I'm gonna be - ...very upset!
