Leo the Lightning Bug

Over Christmas break, my twenty-something kids went through all their old books and this is the one they all remembered as the best! We only had one that they all shared growing up, so I bought two more so they could all have one for their future families!

I got this book for my daughter when she was little. This turned into one of our favorite books. I decided to get this for a baby shower gift.

We loved this book for our kids when they were little. My 17yo (who had the book read to her when she was young) gave it to her retired soccer coach, she is about to have a baby.Such a lovely story, with a very important message to our little ones.

Purchased this for my son, named Leo! I can not wait to give it to him on Christmas! I already read the story and I absolutely love it. Such a great story and learning lesson to believe in yourself and to never give up. Hoping he will enjoy it as much as I did!

Great book with a great lesson for kids.

I am from Tennessee, but I live in CO. I told my husband that EVERY TIME I read a children's book with the word, "firefly" I changed the word out loud for my kids to "lightening bug"... teaching them to speak Southern. :) Anyways, that made me wonder if there were any books about "lightening bugs"... I googled it and bought this on a whim. It is SO CUTE. My kids loved the story. So glad I found it!

We have just found this book and accompanying cd. I can't give enough stars to this. My son is 4 and just learning to read. The cd is so cute. We now read and listen every night. Bedtime is fun and the story has inspired conversations about "what would you do"... when Leo's friends laugh at him, I asked what would you do? When he was in the cave, he asked me, what would you do mom? We listened and snuggled in when the storm hit. All in all, this is a wonderful story and quite engaging for this active and imaginative 4 year old (and his 43 year old mom). Enjoy!

This is the second book I bought from this author. The first was for my niece's son and now that she has a little girl, she requested another book because the little girl loves the old book. When the toddler opened the book on her birthday, she wanted to put it on immediately, telling me this book is going to be a big hit too. The book has a good story and wonderful illustrations. I would definitely recommend this for any toddler.

This book is delightful. It is a really lovely story about a young bug who needs determination and teaches that if you try your hardest and keep on trying, you will get there in the end. A fab story for my primary school circle time.

Great book, especially since my son is named Leo. He loved to hear this story about bravery growing up.So cute. Read often.
