Why won't it staple just a few pages? The staple has empty space after it's done, as if there should have been more pages!

Seems that you may be using the incorrect size/staples too long. Light duty staples are shorter than heavy duty staples. Heavy duty staples leave a gap with a few stapled papers as they're made for use with 40+ more pages, i.e., heavy duty stapler.

Can this stapler use the bostich 3/8'' power crown staples?

No. Only 1/4" staples. There is another Bostich that will take the longer staples and does more pages, but this one will comfortable do 40 pages even with the 1/4" staple

Who sends a stapler with not one staple? you do?

Well, for the small price I paid for this stapler and its quality, I didn't worry about it coming with staples. It uses standard staples anyway, so don't you have some left from your old stapler?

Is this a low force stapler for hand held use?

I find I can easily use it one-handed. I can use it holding it up, or pressing it down on a desk. Both are very easy on my hands, but I do find that leaving it on a flat surface does require slightly less force.
