These are pretty good! They do say level 2 compression, which is medium, and I tend to agree. I wouldn’t have minded a tiny bit more, but there don’t seem to be a level 3 option in this style. Still better than other compression underwear I’ve bought. So I am 5’5”, 126lb, 26” waist, 36” hips. I got the extra small as many said to size down, and the sizing description showed XS as fitting up to 26.5”. I’m fairly petite, but I do also have 22-23% body fat and a bit of a mom pooch. I bought these to wear with a high waisted skirt that did accentuate the lower pooch and made me look early stages pregnant, and these underwear work well to hide that. If I could have bought an XXS I would have, I think a size down is really the way to go if you want the tighter compression. I think the people who have complained about the tight fit likely carry more weight in the belly, whereas I carry mine in the butt and legs. If you have a smaller waist and a lower ponch, size down. If you’re more of an apple body and carry the weight in the middle, true to size or size up depending. I found the size chart to be accurate!

I really liked how these did smooth things out and your stomach area. I wouldn't say that it's shapewear but there is a little in it that helps just kind of slightly flatten and hold things smoothly. I would say that the cut in the front groin and hip is much higher than the picture shows. On me this is definitely not a full front coverage like the picture is showing. I ordered according to the size chart and found it fit well.
