Quality
I like this brand of feed for the flock. The feral chickens and roosters donโt go crazy over this but eat it well. Also, I feel at ease giving it to them. Youโre paying for good quality organic stuff. No debris, twig shell or other foreign objects.

Oh my, this is the GOOD STUFF!
I used to buy another brand of organic scratch. I was disappointed that it was mostly corn, but hey; corn is cheap and it gets the hens to come running when I call. But several times of opening a new bag and finding mostly corn powder got me to looking elsewhere. And this is what I found. They're proud enough of their product to put it in see-through bags so you can see the quality. Gently cracked grains, mostly wheat and barley, and no dust. None. It looked good enough to cook up for my breakfast. The first time I threw some to the chickens, they went crazy. They loved it. And while I'll admit that the price is higher than what I'd been paying for the corn stuff, I realized that when half of the corn stuff was blowing away in the wind, it was really not cheap at all. Now Scratch and Peck is all I buy. You can see the goodness in every handful.

High quality, clean, whole grains. Shipping included in price!
After reading some less favorable reviews here I realized I needed to speak up about my experience. This is not my first bag of organic scratch. Iโve owned chickens, turkeys, ducks and quail for years. This is very high quality โscratchโ. All of my grains are sprouted or fermented and this mix is ideal. When the box was opened i got very excite to see all of these Nice intact whole grains. There may be a chunk of corn or a rouge soybean in the mix along with some field debris but all in all this is extremely clean grain. A quick rinse and pick through is all it takes to rid the grains of the debris. Itโs still hard to find organic grains in bulk at a reasonable price unless you live near the farm. This company needs support to encourage the continued planting of organic, non gmo crops. Some of this mix is currently soaking for sprouting and fermenting. Review will be updated with details. Update: I posted a new picture of the grains in their sprouting trays. This has been great for my chickens, quail, and even my sons gerbils this winter. After a few trials I confirmed a capful of food grade peroxide in the soaking water keeps the grains from molding too quickly. Still canโt find anything comparable for the price! Iโll be buying a new bag soon!

Good quality, love supporting organic family farms
My title says it all: why I bought the product and paid the high shipping to Hawaii Island where organic scratch feed is HARD to come by. That being said, I have ten 2 month-old pullets who are far more interested in bugs than they are in seed of any kind. Still, I like the feel and quality of this product. Caveat: the name implies this is a treat, not a 'feed.' Being new to keeping chickens, I did not realize that one needs both. Still, I think my girls are getting their protein needs met through free ranging. Ultimately, I'm glad I bought the product.

Excellent product for chickens!

Good quality
This was good quality however, my chickens didn't seem to be interested in it. I'm trying not to feed them corn this summer because it is so hot. They like scratch but mostly just run around the yard foraging.
