Is this hook large enough to lift an 11 lb red tail boa?

The hook opening is about 3.5 inches. I suspect you would want a larger hook if you intend for the boas body to fit easily in the hook. If you just want a hook to control the animal in the cage, this should work (the 33" version would be better for this in my opinion). It depends on how you plan to use it. Does that help?

Would this work for a full grown boa or should i get a bigger size?

It’s pretty sturdy but I would get something with a wider hook for a boa. It would likely work but wouldn’t be very comfortable for a large snake. Look into gaboon hooks.
