Uni-ball StyleFit Retractable Gel Ink Pen (UMN-139-28), Slim & Stylish Body, 0.28 mm, 16 Color Set

These are wonderfully color dense and not scratchy despite being very very fine line pens. There's no clip on them and they're VERY slim pens, so using them with the elastic loop in my planners is problematic. I keep them in a pencil case. These are very high quality very fine line ballpoints with good and saturated colored ink. useful and fun. They have not dried out or hard-started in months of use (a perennial problem with other fine line pens in my experience). Really good value for money.

I first found and purchased these pens in Japan. These writing utensils quickly became my favorite out of an entire arsenal of casings with various types of ink. They are slim, light weight, write smoothly, and the ink is well pigmented in every color. Most importantly is the fact these can be purchased based on preference from fine to medium etc. I will continue to purchase these pens as long as they are available. Highly recommend - I’d give 10 stars if I could.

The overall pen is of middle quality. The barrel is nice but not fancy or ergonomic, there is no grip or cushion. If you like a bulkier grip, this may not be for you. The body of the pen is pretty skinny and many of the after market grips available would be to big to help. They write beautifully for such a fine tip. I haven't noticed any significant skipping or scratching that sometimes happens with extra fine tips. The only thing I would add is some kind of clip, but I think part of the marketing is the simplicity, streamlined design while still being retractable. The colors are amazing. I wish all these multi color pen packs in the extra fine tips had more purples and greens, way less yellow (like none, if I'm honest) and maybe a few less blues. But this color selection is actually better than a lot of them.

I love a fine tip pen and these are perfect! My writing is so dainty and fine with these. Plus, the fact that they are colored is really fantastic as well. Often times you can only get black or blue in the fine tip.

My taste in ultra-fine pen tips is different from most pen manufacturers in the US, but Uniball understands what a fine tip really is. I've found finer tips, but they're scratchy and skip and they're expensive. These are a wonderful value for a rainbow of beautiful pens.

I can write chinese characters in 5mm grid squares thanks to these babies!!! (pink and blue characters are done with 0.4 pens, xeno and sarasa respectively)

The colors glide on, they don't skip, they are vibrant and bright, for my line work it is going to be awesome. Did you see my picture? I can write so small! Think of all the designs I can fit. And break out the glasses. Also will try with my bible. I love all my other pens too. Just used for example for artists to compare. If the end that tapers proves hard to hold I will put washi tape around it to desired thickness. Don't not buy them because of that. Easily fixed with tape. I will be buying these again. And, does not smear with water! That's what I need for my fine line drawings. Super happy.

So the pen has some good points to it. The colors are nice and it writes pretty well. It doesn't get caught when you write either, as some pens do with this tip size. HOWEVER, it is so uncomfortable to write with. For some reason the tip tapers down at the end where you would place your hand to hold it. I'm not sure why they did this because it made it so uncomfortable to use. I included a picture to compare it to, just a plain Bic pen and an energel. I'm sad because that one thing has made this pen unusable for me. I wrote a small sentence and my hand was already cramped by the end of it.
