I have arthritis in my hands and have a terrible time using one of those silly long stick lighters. They never work when you need them and they are so darn hard to get the flame going. I saw a BoonDocker's video on youtube and they mentioned these lighters. I had never heard of them before. So my first order was for one but I quickly bought two more. These are so wonderful. So easy to light candles or start a fire stick. My only wish is that I had known about them sooner. Buy one or better yet buy several - you will be glad you did.

For home use and lighting candles here and there, or even daily, this is a great item. It’s not instantaneous, but it gets the job done! I am a wedding planner/florist and for the sheer volume of candles I have attempted to light with this, it cannot hold up. It dies very fast, and with how long it takes to light a candle using it, I’m better off using a standard lighter. If you are planning on using it for such things, I’d advise you to skip the purchase.

I always need a candle lighter that can reach inside a hurricane lantern, and I'm so sick of killing the earth with non-refillable bendy lighters, so I gave this a shot. It works like a charm so far! Fingers crossed that it holds up!

I'm not so sure that this contraption is good for firing up wood for a smoker, but it certainly handles other lighting. I've used it to start a (gas) grill and outdoor candles. I love that it takes care of business with just a tiny electric flare. It would've been great to have this back in my days as a Boy Scout.
