Very good tool. Worked as advertised. The hole diameter was a little small for some of the tulip bulbs I had. I found rocking the tool back and forth and around while it's in the hole helped. I particularly liked the side shoot to discharge the soil plugs.

This product is sturdy and awesome. I use it to plant small container plants and two make plugs out of healthy grass to plant into areas that need a little help in my lawn. They are just a tiny bit smaller than commercial grass plugs, but it works quite well if you alternate between your donation site and your donated site. I have not planted bulbs with this tool, but I have planted enough bulbs in my lifetime to regret not having this tool for those times. This makes it so easy. I really like the fact that this is extremely sturdy metal.

Did what was advertised and I planted over 100 grass plugs . But the depth stop bent early on, so I had to watch how much stomping power I used cutting holes and/or making plugs.

I bought this for planting bulbs in my garden...170 of them. I couldn't bare the thought of bending down to dig 170 little holes (I have spinal disease). I researched all the different devices and methods for doing that task and settled on this one. Over the weekend, I unboxed it, assembled it (which took all of 5 minutes, if that), and went out to dig the first set of bulb holes. It took me about 2 minutes to dig a dozen holes...with no back pain! I like how the dirt plugs get pushed out of the top, which enables you to keep on digging without having to clean it out. And, the plugs that fall out are the perfect size for filling back in the holes once the bulb is placed. The ONLY thing is, once you're all done digging, there is a little bit of dirt left inside that you will need to get out. You don't need to turn it upside down. Just lay it on its side with the plug exit opening facing down. Stick a stick or small handle from a hand tool (or whatever) in the very bottom (the part that goes into the ground) and that little bit of dirt will pop right out. I found this tool to be excellent, sturdy, and it made fast work of digging the bulb holes. I would highly recommend it!

The hole is only 1.75 in wide & not too small to plant bulbs, etc. Fairly heavy so it shoudn't break but it needs 2 things: 1) More than 1 connecting screw. It will wobble around the 1 screw that holds the sections together. 2) There should be a step to get plugs out so they don't get stuck in it. So there are better options. I'd also prefer different handles becuse foam rubber will just get dirty quickly & won't last.

This is well built and is easy to use. Received well packaged and quick delivery. Super quick when making plugs to transfer on areas needing grass. Also worked well for making holes for bulbs. Easy to use and smart design. you can make between 4 to 6 plugs without having to remove after each after. Makes quick work.

We have a whole yard full of Zoysia grass. I wanted a way to start filling in other parts of the yard. Seeds were very expensive and the probability of germination unknown. This was the perfect solution. It's a very solid steel tube. Foot pegs let you easily push it into the ground. The taper and opening make it extremely easy to pop the plugs out of the tube. I've been reversing the process in the new yard. Pull a plug and plant it upside down in the Zoysia section. The grass grows over it and you can't even tell. Putting the plugs in to the fescue side is starting to show results. I was actually a little impatient. Had I waited another month, for a little cooler weather, I think I would have had a lot faster results.

Fun tool to use, punching holes in the lawn, switching places between dead grass and life grass

芝生の土壌改良に使ってます。体重をかけて踏み込むと直径4cm深さ10cm程度の穴が空けられます。そこに新しい土を入れてます。エアレーションも兼ねていますので既存のローンパンチより穴が大きい分効率が良いと思います。効果の程はまだ確かめていませんが芝生の更新作業が楽になりました。ただし固い石があると先端の金属が曲がるので予め大きな石は取り除いておくほうが良いでしょう。デメリットはやや高価なこと。

Love this! Easy to assemble and absolutely great for planting those bigger bulbs like tulips, daffodils and fritillaria persica! So much better than getting down on my hands and knees with a hand shovel!

I used it this spring to plant various bulbs.Suddenly one of the footsteps bent.Could not use it anymore.I returned item for a refund.
