Yes, but the adhesive isn’t the greatest. Don’t want you to have lots of broken mugs.

How do you remove it without damaging the wall/ceiling?

Mine fell off the ceiling and left the adhesive residue.

Will this work with a 8 pound mirrored disco ball?

Hard to say, honestly. I put all of mine up -each one on a different clean, flat surface- and all fell except for one. It’s not worth the experiment because once they fall they lose stickiness. Don’t hang anything that you don’t want busted.
