XTOOL D8W Car Diagnostic Tool – Review I’ve been using the XTOOL D8W for a few weeks now and honestly, I think it’s a brilliant piece of kit. It hasn’t let me down once. The tool is quick, stable, and connects wirelessly over Wi-Fi, which I find far better than the older Bluetooth models. The 8-inch screen is clear and responsive, and the hardware feels solid and reliable. What really stands out is the range of features: Full system diagnostics with easy-to-read topology maps. Bi-directional tests (things like cycling the ABS pump, testing fuel pumps, A/C clutches, wipers, etc.) The ability to have the pre and post scan information and send it to a email address is a game changer for me. I can't fault it. The customer service is first class aswell with my email questions answered fast and with follow up email to make sure im still happy. This for me is outstanding 👏 I hope this level of customer service continues and my XTOOL D8W lasts a long time. Well done XTOOL

Brilliant unit and did everything, and more, that I wished for. I have tried 4 different brands before, none of which could assess the DPF levels or trigger and regen on my W204 V6. I was particularly drawn to this D8W because of the topology mapping feature, so I contacted customer services prior to purchase. Judy messaged me back and assured me it would be able to handle the DPF, and all other modules on my car so I proceeded with the purchase. Very impressive as it not only takes care of my Mercedes, it covers every other manufacturer too! This is a tool that is Pro-Level at a consumer price. Brilliant!

This scan tool is in the - what I call - early stages but don’t let that out you off. If you are not super particular like me you will be very pleased and surprised at what this tool can do. The torch on the OBD dongle is genius. Some manufacturers put the port in some stupid places so the light is a boon. The build quality of the D8 is excellent and really feels like you have bought some more expensive. The touch screen is excellent. Could go a little brighter but on the whole great. Very capable bi-directional control, easy to use. More powerful than expected. If you are in the 8” market but can’t go above a grand you can’t go far wrong with the D8.

Very well constructed , feels fantastic to hold, just an amazing tool , the things this tool can do is incredible, you would normally have to pay 3 to 4 times the price for other tools , that do what the xtool d8 bt. Can do, it truly is an amazing piece of kit , and I would advise other potential buyers , do not hesitate just buy it , you will be absolutely delighted with this machine and it’s capabilities, I spent many weeks researching many diagnostic tools , very apprehensive about buying something less well known, and a lot cheaper than many other brands, believe me I made the correct decision to purchase this tool, can’t fault it and xtool have been absolutely great with my purchase in every way possible. 5***** plus item. Likes - Scans and reports faults on my CRV Diesel. (No Dealer available in my location). Have to help myself. Dislikes - BT antenna can be slow in communicating with device. Considering getting a wired connection to speed up scan times. Really like this device as it's got me out of trouble and helped me to see what's going on all around the vehicle. Perfect solution for my situation.

This was very limited on the vehicles it connected to, except for a 2006 Audi a3 which it performed well accessing all the modules and performing quite a few active tests. Unfortunately this was where the scanner went downhill, I connected it to a 2009 ford kuga using the auto vin without any problems and it read the various control modules fine. When it came to active tests it would only run wipers, horn and a couple of others, instrument cluster testing was not functional even though it has several active tests it says it can perform none of them work. The 3rd vehicle a Vauxhall Tigra b wouldn’t connect using auto vin so had to be done though the vehicle menu, when it had connected to the car it failed to read the engine control module, that had to be code read using the eobd tab from the 1st menu. It only performed a couple of active tests too, lights, wipers, & horn. This wouldn’t test any door regulators or roof components at all. The final vehicle I tried it with was our Citroen relay recovery truck that had the engine management light on. Auto vin wouldn’t find the vehicle and when I tried using the eobd on the 1st menu it would just come back with the no connection message. I contacted xtool support and after getting passed around between departments a few days later I had an email response asking me to allow them remote access to the scanner to load up a beta version to try to see if that would allow connectivity with the truck. Not wanting to use the truck as a guinea pig to test there software I returned the scanner for a refund. After sending the scanner back I looked over the reviews it had again and noticed that quite a few are not actually for this d8w model but are from earlier models. It’s a shame it doesn’t live up to all the 5 star reviews as the unit itself feels quite well made but at the moment the software still needs work for the UK market. Edit to my original review: the customer support for xtool are very helpful and did contact me to try and resolve the problems I had with the d8w several times, unfortunately I’d already returned the scanner for a refund.

Articolo bene imballato, tutto come previsto un bellissimo pezzo fatto molto bene, fa le sue funzioni anche se per la mia auto non fa una diagnosi completa, (per Jeep) ho tartassato di domande il fornitore che a sua volta e stato molto cortese e fulminio nel rispondermi, ed io ringrazio, come ringrazio Amazon per avermi fatto da tramite.
