This light is exactly what I ordered. I'm not using it to it's full potential as I haven't had time to sit a read the directions to set it up like I should. The light is working well.

Good value for nice lamp. I saw two Amazon Prime pages for the same model number. I ordered from the $1 cheaper page. It was noted as new but it came 6 days later in an open box (tape/cardboard slip cut) with loose cables and no manual within an Amazon shipping box I immediately ordered from the other page that then had a 5% off coupon (ended up cheaper by $0.40) and it came in 24 hours from Amazon in a sealed box with foam pads, plastic over lamp, manual, wrapped cables (NEW) in an Amazon paper shipping envelope. Three days later it was $4 cheaper for a Prime Day deal but that's fine with me. I have a Nicrew timer that worked well with my old lamp that was just an on and off switch. That timer has an internal clock that needs to be reset when it loses power but the program stays on. That timer also does dawn and dusk. The new lamp has 8, 10, and 12-hour settings with dawn and dusk but no internal clock. If the new lamp had a 24-hour setting I could use the old timer. Now if the power goes out, I have to restart the new lamp at the time I want it to turn on, i.e., 7 AM to 7 PM - that's how I interpret the manual. The manual mentions the dawn/dusk using the 8 hour settings. It is not clear if that happens with the other settings but I've seen it with the 12-hour setting.

good strong light. Has very long cables works on almost any aquarium or glass tank you have. The rods they give you that go into the light are easy to put in and easy to change the size of. The design is nice and it’s easy to move around. I’m not sure of the durability since it hasn’t gone through much yet but after a couple of water splashes it’s been alright I feel like the only problem i’ll ever have with this is the fact that it really doesn’t come with an off switch there’s a night mode and a day mode but it can never really be turned off unless you pull the plug. It lights up everything though and it looks nice worth the money for sure

It's a nice light. Bright, so my plants will love it. I love the timer feature helps with algae control. And the Midnight Light is so pretty. I also love that when it's coming on it's gradual and when it's winding down as well so my fish actually think it's day going into night and vice versa. Only issue is that for my glass lidded tank, the light fixture is too close up to the glass! I'm talking maybe 1 inch off the glass. So of course when cleaning the tank I have to completely remove it to move the lid. Plus, having the light so close is not good for low light plants. If this is going to be an issue for you, don't buy this. I had to buy risers sold on another site to that this can sit up higher (at least 2 inches of height away from the glass). It was either that or return it and I didn't want the hassle. Other than that it's a pretty descent aquarium light. They really should consider adding more than an inch height on it though. In fact, offer several height options for hobbyists that grow tall plants! Update: Came home today, the lamp was dead. lasted one year. take what you can from that. It was good while it lasted but now I'm here looking to buy another lamp.

It worked good and just broke last week. I had it on 24/7. At first the light only went to blue, thdn it burned out completely. Not sure how long they should last?
