QUARTET : INTERMEDIATE JAPANESE ACROSS THE FOUR LANGUAGE SKILLS WORKBOOK

The best Japanese language learning text I have ever used.

Different from most workbooks, it don't just repeat what is in the class book. This workbook brings extra practice concerning the contents of the student book, and also has a section presenting all the kanjis covered in the book. For those who wants to study without a teacher, it's a good tool, but it doesn't come with the answer key.

My story of studying Japanese is a very long one. I started in 1992 when I lived in Katsushikaku. I have probably 25 Japanese study books. This is one of the best I have ever used. After all the work I did and finishing Genki I and II, I found this book to be challenging, but not out of my reach. It stretched me, but not to the breaking point. I enlisted my Japanese wife to be my teacher and had her grade my work. It takes me an hour to do the work and just 5 minutes for her to grade it. Other reviews mentioned that the solutions are not available and that may be an issue, but you are supposed to write about your own experience so the solutions couldn't possibly contemplate that. You can't learn to speak a language in isolation. You have to use it. So, although I acknowledge the criticism, I would limit it's relevance. BTW, check out Tokini Andy.
