BUY IT!
I bought these in 2017 and they are still in perfect condition after daily use! A breeze to clean with a drop of baking soda for extra dirty pans, occasional Bon Ami to shine. Handles stay cool and glass covers make everything easy to see. Cannot say enough good things about this set!

Great Deal for Quality Pots
This set is a great deal for quality pots. The cookware is well made and solid. The pots and pans conduct heat well allowing for good temperature control while cooking. Stainless steel cookware is obviously different than teflon coated cookware in terms of non-stick behavior, however I prefer it for cooking most things. This set provides a nice distribution of different size pots and pans, and was a perfect replacement for a set that had worn out.

Perfect for the semi-budget millennial who wants to look like they've got their life together!
As an early 30's millennial who just moved into a new place, I'm often bombarded by family members and friends alike who love to tell me what I need to purchase. Aside from life insurance, one of the things everyone has been on my behind about lately has been a set of pots and pans. Over the years, I had 1 trusty non-stick pan that was now pretty damn sticky, and 1 pot to match. Aside from some other random pieces I've accumulated through roommates and significant others over the years, my kitchen equipment was not only lacking, it was a little embarrassing. While having people over and trying to cook things, I was often ridiculed for not having the right stuff or the condition of my stuff. One quick search on Amazon, and I was greeted by a plethora of cookware sets. I asked my mom for some suggestions and she recommended Calphalon. Tired of the ridicule, I read a few reviews then pulled the trigger on this set. Upon receiving this set, I quickly opened the box to discover everything was packaged very well. It seemed to take forever to get everything out. I stuck everything in the dishwasher initially and let'er rip! These things looked great. Obviously the real test was cooking with them. Initially I was having issues with things sticking, etc. I had read that a proper preheat did help, so once I dialed in my preheat technique, I noticed things did improve some but I was still getting some sticking. Upon consulting the women in my life, they advised I try vegetable oil instead of olive oil, and that was it! No more sticking! Everything has been great so far. To clean these things, I normally use dish soap and water, but occasionally I'll give them a good scrub with Barkeeper's Friend to rid the cookware of any stains. Now when people come over to my place, they first compliment me on my cookware before telling me what else I need to spend my money on! Mission accomplished! I'd say if you're on the fence about buying these, they're well worth the money. All the women in your life will approve including your mom, wife, girlfriend, mistress, siblings, you name it!

Nice set, but some things they say are not true
I needed a new set for my new induction stove and liked the look of these. I've owned Calphalon in the past and had been fairly happy with them so thought I'd go for it. The pieces are good sizes, but I did add a 3-1/2 quart lidded pot and then bought another brand's 12" lidded two-handle pan; am still looking at 10-12 qt stock pots to round things out. Two things I have noticed: first, it is touted that the lid handles do not get hot. This is absolutely not true, and I'm glad that I was hesitant the first time to just grab the lid with my bare hand because I would have been burned. This is the most disappointing issue. Second, I used the small fry pan on top of the stove to sear a piece of fish and then put it into the over to finish it off. After this, I have not been able to get the pan to come clean and it's stained. If the manufacturer sees this and has some suggestions I'd appreciate hearing about it. If not, I'm going to reach out to them and see about a replacement because I don't think this should have happened. Other than this, I have been pretty happy with my purchase. The pieces go through the dishwasher nicely and without incident, and I love that the handles have hanging holes (I hang all of my pots and pans on a pegboard in the hallway).

Professional quality, lifelong investment!
These are the most amazing pans! They are easy to cook with and incredibly easy to clean! These are truly professional quality pans! The trick with using professional quality pans is that you need to think like a professional. I've read quite a few reviews that say you can only use these pans on a low heat and that everything sticks, that is only true if you're using the same techniques as you would for a nonstick pan. When the tool changes the technique should change! Professionals aren't afraid of high heat, they aren't afraid of oils, and they understand how to use ingredients that pull the flavors from the bottom of the pan. If you're having trouble with these pans, just watch a good cooking show and try something different from what you're used to in the old, toxic, nonstick coated pans. These pans can take heat! They can take a good deglazing! They can go from stovetop to oven! They can handle any utensils you throw at them! They are gorgeous restaurant quality pans! And cleaning couldn't be easier! First of all, they can go in the dishwasher. Unfortunately I have a low quality dishwasher that couldn't handle such things. But if anything is stuck on I just soak it overnight and rinse everything away in the morning. These are honestly dream pans for me! They are the kind of thing you buy once and have for decades. I feel like my kitchen tools are now complete with this incredible set living in my cabinets, always ready to help me whip up a fancy dish or just another box of Mac and cheese. Trust me, you won't regret getting this set!

Not worth the price.
I purchased this set of pots and pans for my daughter's shower in April. Today we threw them away..everything sticks to them hard to clean unless you soak them for two days. I told her I would replace them with a set of circulon..wish I purchased them the first time..5 months is not how long I expected them to last..I'm retired on a fixed income.

Not nearly as impressed as I expected to be
While I do appreciate the way the lids on the pots have holes that allow them to be used to pour liquid out without worrying about losing the rest of the contents, I'm ultimately not nearly as impressed as I expected to be. Pretty much everything I make sticks to the bottom of the pan, regardless of how much butter or oil I use. In addition, it is then fairly difficult to clean the sticking gunk off - I literally had to soak a frying pan for 5 hours, and scrape layers off 4 times, after making scrambled eggs, and the pan had definitely been adequately greased. I made pasta the first time I used one of the saucepans, and now there is a permanent noodle impression on the bottom of the pan - I can't get it off, no matter how long it soaks, or how long I scrub. I am glad I got these when they were apparently on sale, because I would be even less pleased if I had paid full price. UPDATE: I still hate these pans, but did find that if I soak them in a strong solution of vinegar water overnight, I am able to get the food marks off the bottom and sides of the clean pans. However, the fact of needing to go through this extra step is extremely irritating, and still does not fix the issue of pretty much everything I cook sticking to the bottom of the pan, so I would have to say these are very definitely not worth the money. UPDATE 2: These are by far the worst pans I have ever used. I hate them, and will never buy another Calphalon product - so much for quality. The $40 set I bought in college was as far superior. I have almost completely stopped cooking on the stovetop because these pans are so bad. Iโm not even going to bother donating, just going to throw them out and buy a different brand. Total of waste of money.

Works great, with a learning curve.
I was hesitant to purchase based on some reviews about staining or sticking, however, it seems to be user error for these issues. No offense intended to anyone here of course. The pans seem to be well made, thick without being too heavy, but definitely seem durable (only had them for a week, so time will tell). Additionally, they cook food fairly quickly with good heat distribution. I donโt have any complaints, but below is what I have learned about using and caring for these stainless steel pans: 1. Preheat the pan on the stove before adding oil or food. Once preheated, add oil and allow it to heat for maybe 10 seconds. This prevents any sticking you might encounter. Trust me, it works! 2. Staining did occur to my pans with the first use! I was shocked, but please know there are ways to fix this. First, vinegar and Bar Keepers Friend are now your allies. Vinegar worked well, but you need to let it sit in the pan for a few minutes. BKF worked instantly (follow directions on product) and made these pans look brand new! 3. You can put these in the dishwasher, but they may come out discolored (use methods above to fix this). We decided to hand wash our pots and pans and dry them after each use. Good luck!

Amazing product
Iโm very happy I invested in this product. Itโs been a while I have been trying to get rid of all my non stick pans. These pots and pans are just amazing once you get the hang of using them. They do need more oil/fat to fry things but that is Norma for stainless steel pans. You have to let the pan heat well n then add your oil/fat. I am very happy and highly recommend this product.

lids don't fit well
Received the package on time, and was at first happy to see everything has arrived safely, but after matching the lids to the pots and pan I discovered that the lids don't sit tight on the pans, there is a few millimeters gap between them. I have other Calphalone utensils previously purchased from amazon.com a few years ago and there the lids sit tight. For the price we had paid this is nonsense. Update: black stains after first use, very low-quality steel. Disgrace.

Good quality
Good quality and sturdy handles and lids. Does attract stains inside but using a metal sponge most of it comes off.
