I’ve been using this extension reel for about six months, mainly indoors but in a fairly damp area. It’s been powering various tools and appliances without issue. Recently I had a 2.4kW oscillating fan heater plugged into it. The heater’s own plug became very hot, and the reel’s thermal cut-out tripped as designed which is exactly what you want from an extension reel when something starts overheating. After letting it cool down, I pressed the reset button and it worked normally again. There was no melting, no visible damage and no lasting issues on the reel or the heater. Used correctly and fully unwound, it feels solid and well made. The cut-out doing its job gave me confidence that it’s providing proper protection rather than just acting as a basic cable drum.
