Works great. I use it in my classroom to wake sleep students. It is very loud, but yet safe and not so large that it can't fit in my desk. Also, a great value! I would recommend.

The bag it came in broke pretty quickly but this thing can make a pretty loud honk. The pump handle locks in the closed position with a twist. The red horn part comes off for relatively compact storage. When assembled and extended it's kind of big and awkward to store but you can make loud blasts to your heart's content.

A mother black bear and her cubs have recently taken up regular visits to my brother's apple trees for their supply of vitamin C, vitamin K, copper and potassium. If you want to take a walk, you must go within 10 feet of where they eat the apples. Not wanting to give up walking, my first thought was to get "bear spray" for protection. It did not take long to realize that this strategy would bring me close to the bears and possibly anger them. A loud horn to let them know that people were near by seemed like a much better strategy. This horn filled the bill. It is loud, not too large, and easy to use. The loud sound that it makes warns the bears without your having to get close to them and gives them plenty of time to move on. So far this has worked well for both the humans and the bears. One caveat is that the horn should always be pointed away from the user to avoid causing ear damage. It has solved my black bear problem. They would rather run than fight. JPE
