No subscription required, top quality features and video
The main thing about the Eufy doorbells and cameras is that you do not need to purchase a monthly/yearly subscription to still have top quality features which other manufacturers provide on subscription. The button/camera unit was easy to install, coming with drilling templates and screws and wall plugs. You should charge it up via the included USB cable (but you need your own USB power supply) before installation, so that you can check the video coverage angles and best position for installation before drilling holes and mounting. If you don’t want the slight inconvenience of having to take the unit inside and charge it every 3 to 4 months, the doorbell can be powered from an existing AC doorbell transformer supply. The internal battery charge will last several months depending upon the features you turn on and how much video you capture. You will get an alert to charge the unit when needed in the app. The HomeBase (HB) unit can be positioned anywhere within your home that has WiFi coverage. When the doorbell button is pushed, the unit itself rings, as well as the HomeBase unit. You can also have alerts on the app, and on Amazon or Google smart speakers or hubs. Using the app, you can have a two way voice conversation with the caller, whilst seeing them on camera. You can also see the video from the doorbell on smart speakers that have screens. The doorbell lower camera can be angled independently to look at your doorstep for parcel deliveries, and when those are detected, the machine learning (AI) of the HomeBase can then provide further alerts if the parcel is moved after delivery. The HB3 (details below) increases the accuracy of this system, as well as adding further detections for vehicles, animals and people seen by the cameras. Eufy have addressed security concerns that were raised in December 2022, in terms of video streams being unencrypted and publicand have locked down a lot of the security since then, with streams being created with different identifiers each time, and having a finite time before expiring. Updated: As of June 2023, the HomeBase 3 unit now supports the dual camera Eufy S330 doorbell. Migration requires removing the doorbell and HB2 from the app, which will result in losing any recordings you have saved – so do consider backing these up or exporting them if needed. Pairing the doorbell to the HB3 is as easy as the HB2, however the HB3 has a SATA connector inside to add a 2.5” SSD/HDD to increase storage capacity, as well as supporting additional Eufy cameras. For a limited time Eufy has offered trade-up deals for the HB3 in the app, with about 30% discount off full price.

Almost perfect!!!
After leaving Ring due to the ongoing subscription costs, I started looking for a reliable alternative. My first attempt was the TP-Link Tapo D235, which initially looked promising. Unfortunately, the motion detection proved unreliable – some days it worked, other days it would miss multiple events, and occasionally it wouldn’t detect anything at all. Next I tried the Eufy E340, hoping for better results. Again, the doorbell itself looked great and worked well when it detected motion, but the PIR detection had the same issue: constant missed detections. At that point I was seriously considering going back to Ring reluctantly. Then I came across the Eufy S330 with HomeBase, which uses both PIR and radar for motion detection. After testing it for several days, I can honestly say the difference is huge. The detection has been flawless so far and hasn’t missed a single event. Combining PIR with radar clearly makes a big difference in reliability. Installation was straightforward. I decided to hardwire it using a transformer, which was easy enough to set up, but during the first few days of testing the battery performance looked very good as well. From a full charge (100%), it only dropped 3% over three days, which is impressive. One thing to note is that there’s no colour night vision, but this wasn’t an issue for me since I already have a porch light at the front door. With the light on, the night footage is perfectly clear. There are a few minor drawbacks though: • Notification delay: Motion alerts to my phone can take around 5–8 seconds to arrive. It’s noticeable but not a deal breaker. The actual doorbell press notification is instant, which is more important in day-to-day use. • HomeBase design: The HomeBase is quite bulky and only includes 16GB of internal storage, which feels a bit outdated. You can add extra storage via USB, but the lack of a microSD slot seems like an odd omission in 2026. • HomeBase volume: The built-in chime volume isn’t particularly loud. In a larger house or if the HomeBase is far away, it might be difficult to hear. Luckily I already owned the Eufy Chime 2 from my previous E340 purchase, and that works perfectly and is much louder. • Micro-USB charging: The doorbell itself uses micro-USB for charging, which is frustrating when almost everything else has moved to USB-C. It would have been nice to see a more modern port. Despite these small criticisms, I’m still giving this 5 stars. Amazon doesn’t offer a 4.5-star option, and honestly the motion detection reliability alone makes this worth it. If Eufy improved the HomeBase storage options, volume, and switched to USB-C, this would easily be the perfect video doorbell. For anyone leaving Ring due to subscriptions and frustrated with unreliable PIR-only cameras, the Eufy S330 is absolutely worth considering.

Peace of Mind Maker
Brilliant item! I honestly wouldn't be without this now! I ordered this after some horrid person was wandering around my property and trying to get in! Thankfully my dog scared him off! So now I have this doorbell, the quality of the video is excellent!! I'm not that tech great and it was easy to set up. I've not really used the spoken audio but I'll use it eventually. The parcel minder works quite well, and I like how it is linked to my Alexa. I've also got this set up with a 3 pin plug electricity supply and it has been working a treat. I did have cause to contact customer service with an issue related to my own actions and they were brilliant: quick to reply and swift solution. The motion detection is really good, and has good choices when altering the sensitivity. Out of all my camera systems with motions, this is hands down the best in sensitivity and functionality. The only thing I'd do different now is buy the base 3, and this dual camera was it the 330 - as I think the base 3 is more future proof than the 2. But buying this combination was a good price point that really reflects that and I think as I was skint at the time it was also a problem solved at a good price - so I'd probably make the same choice and buy this combination again. It turns out I have a couple of Eufy and Anker products and they are all very good. Side note, the box and their website gives the US customers links to 3 pin plugs to deliver power to the doorbell, but not reallyl for the UK. I did actually buy one that had the same specs as the one recommended for the US customers (wats amps etc etc) and used that, and have been for 6 weeks so far.

Best of the Top 5 Doorbell cameras IMO.
I’ve only just installed it but my first impressions is that’s it seems to be a well designed doorbell camera. Pros: The box & fittings are exude a quality item. Instructions were good & the doorbell was easy to fit, included in the kit is a 15° stand-off which takes the camera away from the wall. The footage quality is excellent in both sunny & dull lighting. There are plenty of options available to suit your own circumstances. There is also the option to add-on more cameras. Having the onboard memory is a big bonus ie no subscription unless you want a huge cloud based storage. Cons: The 15° standoff in my case is insufficient, 2 fittings would’ve helped eg a 15° & 25° for a few pence extra. Ideally you need a spare cat5 in your router/hub though wireless is available but the connectivity in my case wasn’t great. There is a bit of latency between what the camera sees & you being able to get alerted & see on your phone, but the audible alert to your ‘guest’ is almost instant. At night it alternates between B&W & Colour ie one night it’s B&W & the next it’s Colour despite there appearing to be no variation in lighting. Whilst there are plenty of menu options available enabling you to tweak your setup, they are quite difficult to find and I would swear that new items are being added ‘cause they didn’t seem to be in the menu previously, and whilst you can add cameras which to be fair is brilliant; you have to study Eufy’s suitability chart since some cameras won’t connect to the S330 Homebase supplied in this kit. Had I have realised this, I would’ve bought the more expensive set which includes the more practical S380 Homebase. It would be a nice gesture and if Eufy would allow a swap and pay the difference. But overall so far I think I made the best choice of the top 5 doorbell cameras available in the U.K. market.

Issues with lag and Alexa
I work from home in a small building behind the house. As such I couldn’t hear the previous doorbell because it didn’t have a long enough reach, so we decided to get a video enabled one and an echo show to integrate it with. I had high expectations for this doorbell, as I’ve only had great quality products from the parent company Anker. Installation was simple enough and the setup was easy. Adding the doorbell to Alexa also proved straightforward and all seemed well. The biggest issue with this is the lag. When the doorbell is pressed, there’s a good 4-5 seconds before either my phone or the echo displays a notification, and then a further delay as the eufy security app loads. In the end there’s a good 10 seconds before you see who’s at the front door. The second issue is that you can’t actually talk to whoever is at the front door through the echo show, only the mobile app. I felt this was very misleading as the marketing states this is ‘compatible with Alexa’. Another issue is that the ‘live’ camera view is actually a playback from the base station. The timestamp I’m the corner of the screen shows that it’s roughly 40 seconds behind (could have been 60 seconds, I can’t remember exactly now). When you respond to a doorbell press event, and you’re on the mobile app, then there’s also a delay between you speaking and what you said coming out of the unit. I ended up buying a ring 3 doorbell and I no longer experience any of these issues; the delay between a doorbell press and the video feed is around 2-3 seconds and I’m able to respond immediately through either the echo show or via the app. I’ve responded to the doorbell from London and was able to hold what felt like a normal conversation with the delivery person! In conclusion, I was very disappointed by the eufy video doorbell. You’re much better off getting a ring doorbell (plus it’s cheaper, even if you factor in the £3.49 per month for the recording protection).

No subscription, great coverage
The Eufy S330 is one of the strongest all‑round video doorbells for people who want premium features without subscription fees. The 2K camera delivers crisp, detailed footage, and the dual‑camera setup does a great job capturing both faces and packages — something many competitors still struggle with. The included HomeBase is a real advantage: it boosts Wi‑Fi reliability, stores footage locally, and keeps everything running without monthly cloud costs. Motion detection is accurate, notifications are quick, and the battery life holds up well even with frequent activity. It’s not the cheapest option, and the setup takes a little longer because of the HomeBase, but once it’s running, it’s rock‑solid. A great choice if you want high‑quality video, reliable alerts, and long‑term savings by avoiding subscriptions.

Unbiased review from Ring door bell user
We have been using ring doorbell 2nd gen for the last 2 years and paying approx 4 monthly subscription services and decided to get rid of the subscription. Everything is subscription these days so one less would be good. Right? First impression - The build quality is good. Packaged very well. Comes with a mounting bracket, and screws to install. Has a built-in battery so no need to be hardwired with the power source. Installation - Needs to drill only two holes and installed within minutes. Took me 5 min to set up and pair both the doorbell and Homebase 2. Yes, it comes with home base 2 and not 3. Does not make a difference to me because we don't have any more devices in our house so storage is not an issue. Took 15 min to drill and fix it on the wall. User experience - Other Amazon customers have complained about the delay. Let me clarify this. The doorbell is connected to the home base and eufy cloud services. I will come to that cloud part later. When someone rings the doorbell or it detects motion, the doorbell tries to reach the home base to initiate a session and record the event. If there is a poor wifi signal, then it took extra milliseconds which indeed is the cause of the delay. In the case of the ring doorbell, poor wifi does not affect much because you get notified from ring.com directly which naturally has faster processing than Eufy home base 2. So, if you want quick notification, make sure Eufy Bell gets a good wifi signal and Homebase is connected via ethernet in the same network. Cloud connectivity and privacy concern - It does need eufy account to pait homebase and doorbell. The eufy id is needed to notify on your phone even if you are outside your wifi network. It does not upload any videos to the cloud. When you open the eufy app to watch events, it decrypts the video and plays it on your phone directly from Homebase 2. However, if you want a notification with a thumbnail, then some portion of the video needs to be processed at eufy.com to generate a thumbnail and notify you. The session and data are encrypted so don't worry much. The guys at eufy cannot decrypt because the private keys are stored in Homebase itself. If you worry much, then change the notification to text only in the eufy app. Comparison - The ring doorbell video quality was nothing compared to eufy doorbell. I don't know if it has HD or FHD in the ring but in eufy it is 2k. The picture is crisp and clear. I am very impressed with the video quality and not going back to ring ever. Conclusion – I am very happy with eufy doorbell. Mine was the dual camera with a home base 2 combo package. Cost me 189 but compared to Ring, there is no monthly subscription and far better quality. Thinking of connecting to NVR like sinology or qnap, it will not work because of lack of OVNIF Will update review with some pictures soon Update May 4, 2023 Now door bell works with homebase 3. You need Latest Software version as homebase 3 - 1.4.0.8 Doorbell - 0.1.6.6 iOS app version - 4.6.4 Android app update yet to be released Setup normally as you do and you are good to go. I can confirm that my door bell is working with homebase 3.

Great product , great features
this item is easy to set up, has great variety of security functionality , and whilst out and about it is still possible to view events and respond to callers, with no subscription costs, i would recommend purchasing a 24 volt AC mains power supply plug, as the full security capabilities will drain the rechargeable battery faster than normal.
