This set was packed extremely professionally, with every color individually wrapped and labeled so that it couldn't fall out of its half pan. None of the colors were half-empty, like other companies' paints -- it was clear that the maker had added an extra dollop or two after the paint had dried, just to make sure that every pan was completely full. The paints wetted easily and brushed on very thickly. I used black paper, and I didn't have to go over and over to make sure the colors could be seen. In fact, I will have to dilute these paints further to get a sheer wash of color. They shine so brightly that the "night sky" I painted with them glows with color, even on black paper! I'm extremely happy with these paints, and I am very happy to have discovered CSY. I recommended them to my classmates, who were also entranced with these lovely paints. Five stars for quality, packaging, making sure the paints are full, and really lovely, intensely bright and shiny metallic colors!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE THESE!!! The colors are beautiful and have a lot of pigment. Look good on light paper bus especially on darker paper. And they are a great price.

Some of the colors take a lot of water to get going. But none than less these colors are so vibrant and pretty. Love painting with this and pretty affordable.

Unwrapping the pans was easy, unlike some wrappings around small pans. Each pan is filled very generously, and the colors are vibrant. However, I do have to say that the lighter ones do need a couple more coats than the darker ones to come out as solid as the dark ones with one stroke.

I was a bit apprehensive in ordering these metallic watercolors but I am not one bit disappointed. They apply so well and are rich looking. I just enjoy using them!

Cute little palette and the best selection of colors of anything similar.

This little palette has nice colors! Having said that, they do not work well when trying to make color puddles. You won't get a very pigmented color. They are great if you spritz with water and use directly from the pan, but you can't really water the colors down. That doesn't mean you can't make beautiful art with it though. It also is nice to use to add shimmer on top of colors. I find that the shimmer doesn't show up well when you mix it with regular watercolor though. You basically have to paint your art with your regular watercolors, then once its dry, you can use this palette to add shimmer on top of your project.

I'm blown away by these watercolors. The color shift is stunning and the pigment goes down easily. They're also lasting MUCH longer than I expected. I tend to splurge on much more expensive paint but find myself returning to this pan again and again. I'll definitely reorder when the time comes!

Please be warned: these paints are not handmade, sold and dispatched from Germany, but they come from China. They might use pigment from Germany, but that is not the same as handmade paint from Germany. And the quality is aboslutely horrendous. They are not watercolour paints whatsoever. The paints are practically dry before your brush touches the paper and they became gloopy within a blink of an eye. It all feels like one big lie and I would advise everyone NOT to buy these paints.

This is one of my best purchases. Ever. I ordered this larger set of paints plus a couple of the six block tins as they went down in price and, hey, you gotta have a treat! I am so impressed with this. Let's talk about the tin... it's good quality metal and a perfect size ( roughly 12x6.5cm) so it takes up next to no space on a work surface and is small and compact enough to hold in my hand if I'm just painting while I watch tv. It has a double tray space for mixing and watering down paints and a thumb ring on the bottom so there's no faff when holding it. It happily holds 20 paint blocks! I've attached pics of it with the extras I ordered already fixed in there. The interior tray comes out for easy cleaning and it fastens tightly. The paints are gorgeous with sumptuous colours, well pigmented with a shimmer which really does add a glow. As with all watercolour or shimmer paints I would recommend dropping a little water on each a couple of minutes before you use them so that they activate nicely. They still provide a pretty subtle sparkle when heavily watered down as a wash, and a vivid dazzle when used thickly. They put me in mind of rich shot silk. A couple of negatives: the tin closes tightly but is slightly too deep so when the tin is turned upside down the paint blocks shift and come out of their housing. Which leads to the second slight issue which is that, with the smaller tins, the manufacturer provides adhesive magnet strips which hold the blocks in place. No such strips are included with the larger set. Maybe this is just an occasional oversight, but it would be nice to have that helpful addition. I have some magnetic sheets so a quick snip snip and double sided tape have taken care of the annoyance so it's no biggie really. Overall this is a superb bargain. It cost me just shy of £17 on offer and there ARE cheaper options available, but this is QUALITY and value for money. I would highly recommend these paints and certainly this bigger set.
