These can be installed either way out or in I read .

Pictures show not the red clay colored pads . but read good reviews . I guess the direction can be installed alternate black and checkered sides out or all either way .

Damaged gaskets and there all cardboard paper basicly and have bends in them

The gaskets are made of paper/cardboard. I was expecting rubber. They're bent and torn. Very low quality.
