The Secret of Shambhala: In Search of the Eleventh Insight Review: The Eleventh Insight - As a follower of Celestine Prophecy, I have read all of the previous books by James Redfield. I didn't know that a book about the "The Secret of Shambhala In Search of the Eleventh Insight" was published until I read about the offering of the "Twelfth Insight The Hour of Decision" on desertcart. That's when I said hmmmm, what happened to the Eleventh? I went searching on desertcart and found it along with the Twelfth and purchased them both at the same time. As always, desertcart was quick to ship and as soon as it arrived, I read the Eleventh. It was awesome! As soon as I finished, I started reading the Twelfth, but I haven't finished it yet. What I truly can relate to in this series is just how much the storyline coincides with our times. The spirtual wisdom that I have gained from these books cannot be measured. Although I am rarely a collector of books (after reading them once, pass them on to someone else), I have all of the Celestine Masterpieces and I won't part with them. Of all the books I've read, these are the books that I can read and reread many times and gain a new perspective of the insights each time. If you are "open minded", spiritual, and would like to have the world "COEXIST" in nature and religion, these are a Must Read. I highly recommend all of them. Review: My Brain Went on a Himalayan Adventure! - If you, like me, finished The Celestine Prophecy and thought, "Okay, but what's the next level of cosmic synchronicity and energy fields?", then buckle up, because The Secret of Shambhala: In Search of the Eleventh Insight is about to take your brain on a trek through the Himalayas. And let me tell you, it's less about sherpas and more about shifting realities. Picking this up felt less like reading a book and more like receiving a coded message from the universe, disguised as an adventure novel. Redfield has this knack for blending spiritual concepts with a plot that keeps you turning pages faster than you can say "collective consciousness." This time, the quest for the legendary Shambhala isn't just a geographical one; it's a deep dive into the power of intention, prayer, and how our inner world shapes our outer reality. What hit me most personally was the exploration of energy dynamics. I've always been sensitive to the 'vibes' of places and people, and this book felt like it was finally giving language to that feeling. It talks about subtle energy fields, the impact of fear versus love, and how our focused intention can actually influence outcomes. It made me stop and think about every interaction, every thought – like, am I accidentally sending out chaotic energy signals? It's both fascinating and slightly terrifying in the most enlightening way. The journey to Shambhala itself is filled with challenges and mystical encounters, pushing the protagonist (and the reader) to integrate these abstract ideas into tangible experiences. It wasn't always easy; some concepts felt like trying to grasp mist. But the persistent, adventurous narrative pulled me through, making the insights feel earned and deeply meaningful. It's a powerful reminder that spiritual understanding isn't just intellectual; it's something you live and experience. Finishing this book left me with a buzzing feeling – like I'd just had a major energetic tune-up. It didn't solve all my problems, obviously, but it gave me new tools and a fresh perspective on navigating the world. It encouraged me to pay closer attention to my intuition, to be more deliberate with my thoughts and feelings, and to see the interconnectedness in everything. It's the kind of book that makes you feel like the universe is winking at you, constantly offering clues if you're just paying attention. So, if you're ready for an adventure that's as much internal as it is external, and if you're open to the idea that there's a whole lot more going on beneath the surface of reality, grab The Secret of Shambhala. Just be warned: your brain might start seeing synchronicities everywhere. Mine certainly did!

Back to Mainstream Religion with a twist
Those who enjoy Redfield always have mixed feelings. The mixture comes from fairly low quality writing with a deep message-- an odd combination indeed. Redfield might argue that this paradox is a link in the "coincidence" chain, attracting some, bypassing others. If you watched the Celestine movie (worth watching), you saw the same thing-- some pretty bad acting coupled with some good messages, particularly about relationships, controlling behaviors, etc. If you prefer hard to soft, a more edged, and much better shot movie on the topic is Besson's (Fifth Element) and Stratham's REVOLVER --a violent and deep exploration of the negative consequences of ego, not for all, but for students of the science of mind-- a real treat, especially if you're a TRANSPORTER fan and don't mind a little jog into the mind and the "game behind the game" ala 13th floor, matrix, etc. The present volume leaves the iffy and distracting new age detritus of reincarnation and "signs of the end" of the 10th, and gets us back into the enjoyable and important topics of love and harmony with ourself and others. To translate what a Christian or Baha'i perspective might identify with: his idea of coincidences harmonizes with the idea of "confirmations of the Holy Spirit"; his idea of the "unseen energy" is congruent with the perennial idea of grace; his idea of "prayer" coinicides with- well, prayer! If you got to this book from a link on request prayers dot com, the idea of an expanding network of prayer for the whole planet seen there has more than a fictional edge-- namely, the older Christian idea of a "prayer list." Anyone who has had serious problems, with health, relationships, finances, and who has tried the prayer list concept, knows that the energy he's talking about is far more than just fiction or new age claptrap. Hopefully deeply religious people, whether Islamic, Christian, Bahai, Hindu, Buddhist or Jewish, will take the time to read this-- the principles are truly grounded in many older mystic traditions from every Prophet. In the end, regardless of how altruistic we are, we judge books like this by relating them to our personal experiences and lives. On that front, it stands the test of time and is as valuable in 2009/2010 as it was a few years ago! Well worth reading-- and not just for the entertainment, diversion or fun-- will truly inspire and may even solve difficult personal dilemmas, situations or problems. If it helps you in a personal way, the grace is there, "by any other name..."

I LOVE THESE BOOKS!!! changed my life
I ordered the kindle version of this book after reading the first 2 books in the series, The Celestine Prophecy and the Tenth Insight: Holding the Vision. I have only read the first chapter of this book, but the first 2 books were so captivating that I read through them each in one sitting. The author takes you on a journey of spiritual awakening right along with the characters in the book. The well thought out theories of spirituality and energy, life and divinity, are spot on and come across as non-offensive to any type of religious beliefs. I enjoyed reading these books so much and the thoughtfulness and energy boost it gave feel felt amazingly comforting. I highly recommend this series of books, especially if you are searching for some insight into why we are here and where we will be going. The magic, the inter human connections, and a strong intuition are all ideas that make this book so compelling. When I finish this third book, The Eleventh Insight: The Secret of Shambhala, I will return to update my review, but I know I will love it as much as I did the first two.

The Secret...Realize your Intentions
The quote to intrigue and compel you to read this book: "You must understand that inside you is a great power that can be cultivated and extended, a mental energy that has always been called a prayer field." The term prayer field in this setting is in no way tangled up in the religious connotations, of kneeling down to prayer. As Chauncey Gardner said in the great movie starring Peter Sellers Being There, coincidently a very intuitive person, "you must learn to tend your garden." This book, in an entertaining novel way, begins to shine the light on how to do that. While it seems to be a Secret to too many folks, it's is my belief that really it's an intuitive reality that only needs to be, as I write in my book `Love is a Blooming Rose' awakened to. This book takes James Redfield's points from his books Celestine Prophecy and Tenth Insight and adds to them in what I would call an `adstory', a Murphyism that can be associated with the term adverb. Adstory more appropriately applies to this book than sequel, because while Redfield takes the same adventurer approach he continues to add to his moral message. In Celestine and the Tenth Insight he describes how we come to a worldview understanding of a new spiritual awareness. In Shambhala he elaborates on what you do when you realize that you have it THE SECRET, the title of another intriguing book, and are part of it. This adventure takes the reader trekking through the Tibetan Himalayas to a place called Shambhala. To give the book a sense of adventure and intrigue, trekking may not be the best word. The main character of the book is actually being chased through Tibet by the Chinese military looking to squelch the secret in the war over people's minds. He gets caught and then interacts with his enemy, only to find out that there are no enemies. Upon arrival, the reader comes to learn that Shambhala is a mythical place that only has a geographical location because you are trekking there. And that trek has a physical journey and a spiritual journey. Shambala is a place in your mind. Says Redfield: "On the world view spectrum there are doomsday voices showing us that that our Western lifestyle is not sustainable. These folks are countered by technologists who invent there way to the next unsustainable plateau. Which over the history of man is a very short step to the next break through, giving us the impression that time is speeding up." But then I ask what is time? (see my many reviews on this subject...space and time) This book proposes a sustainable future for mankind. It's somewhat of a paradigm shift for those who have not awakened to the Secret. So to navigate the poles of this spectrum, Redfield offers sustainable growth along with humane technology growth. It is an evolution of slowly turning pages. This is Redfield thesis in a entertaining venue. What I hear in those words is: A growth in technology that takes a look at the `whole of our social being before it introduces scientific break-thru's to society. I call it science with a conscience. I have been pleading for this for years. Is there a law of attraction that finally has me read this book? Imagine, science not conned by the need to push through for the sake of pure science. Imagine an intuitive move toward the sacred, and optimism based on a spiritual vision of where the world can go. Spiritual intuition is a metaphor that comes out of the book. So what is that? It is the subtle turning of pages in your life that embrace synchronicity; those mysterious coincidences that could pop up in a second that makes a page turn on to a new chapter in your life. Where the book goes beyond previous Redfield books in this area is the subject of prayer. Not payers that start with "bless me father." Not prayers that start with "Dear God I need..." The rest is found by searching on key word cigarroomofbooks. Please share your views.

One of my favorites from the Celestine Insight series
I have read and listened to all four of the books over and over again. My one critique is that the audio quality of The Secret of Shambhala is not as clear and crisp as the other three, which is a disappointment since this audio book was read by LeVar Burton. He’s amazing! I hope someday this audio book can be cleaned up. Otherwise, I love the Celestine Insight books! It spoke of the times back when they came out; it timelessly speaks to our time now! That is why I’m re-reading and re-listening to all of them again and again. Thank you James Redfield! I wish there were more books continuing the spiritual adventure of the insights with our protagonist (us) and Wilson James.

Love the book
This book I feel like is very underrated, it’s a great read and informative to those that juice to receive! I read this book for the first time about 15 years ago and reading it now again definitely resonates much more with me and I can say that all books of this awesome journey “James Redfield” is taking us are just very special!

Putting it all together for use in your life
If you've come this far with James Redfield, then this book shows how the Insights can and do work in your life; this life. The succinct guided meditation of a few steps that leads you to increased Universal Energy and higher spiritual vibrations is very powerful and palpable. His experiences finding Shambhala are very applicable to daily life; and his interactions with people reflect what can happen in every day life. The dialogue, conversations, and interactions are believable and engaging. They are practical applications of the Insights, that when used together can bring one's life more into focus, more understanding, and insight to each person's unique purpose in life. The Secret of Shambala is rather like the summary guide for putting all the Insights into practical use. And when used as described here, one can achieve results as quickly and as powerfully as your understand them allows. Reading and "traveling" through the other books, feeling like a member of his adventure party, make this book and its power the reward for reaching the goal. This book is "the Shambhala" of one's journey through the Celestine Prophecy.
