One of my go to inks. Great color and quality.
One of my favorite inks. It flows well and drys fairly quickly. J. Herbin has been around a long time and has a great reputation for not damaging pens. I doesn't dry and leave ink boogers on the nib.

Herbin - Lie De The... Definitely in my Top 10 Fountain Pen Inks
This is a nice big bottle of Herbin Lie De The. It is one of my favorite inks. I like to use it in my Travelers Brass Fountain Pen as well as in my Jinhao 59 <M>. It looks really nice and has great flow.

Noble ink, great color
Lovely and gentle violet ink. Jacques Herbin is the best for use on your fine fountain pens as it is water based and won't damage your converter or piston pens. Definitely my go to brand

Nice, standard blue; nothing exceptional
This ink is a pleasant shade of medium blue that looks like the standard colour I've seen in fountain pens most of my life. I did not see any purple or violet undertones, or indeed undertones of any other colour. I must admit I am disappointed. I was seduced by the French "Eclat de Saphir", which I translate as something like "Sapphire Radiance", "Radiant Saphire" or "Glowing Sapphire", or "Sapphire Glow". With such a name I was hoping for something really extraordinary, rather like some of the many pictures I saw of this ink in multiple different listings. Yes. I do realise that it is common for inks to lose the brilliance they display in the bottle when wet and seen through glass (another disappointment -- this bottle is a dull plastic, not the nice glass containers smaller quantities of J. Herbin's ink come in.) Once an ink that looks saturated when first laid down dries, it commonly turns lighter and often duller. But there were so MANY pictures of this ink looking as if it would live up to its name in terms of glow, variety of tones and radiance. I would never have invested nearly $25 in a leaky plastic bottle of plain, generic blue ink had I not over-romanticised the colour. Sigh. Next time I will follow my usual instincts and return to purchasing a sample size before going to a large size. And this is a large quantity of ink which should last me a long time. I'm just sad that the leaking cap, cheap plastic container and insipid colour are so completely lacking in magic.

DARK black ink that wonโt hurt you pen
RICH black ink , much better than Japanese or German inks. Stable, color does not fade over the years. Great value for money. I have used this ink for 10 years, left it in pens for weeks on end. Flows really well.

Tea-colored Warm Brown Ink
a highly regarded, warm brown ink with excellent shading, often described as a medium-brown to light sepia. It behaves well, featuring moderate flow and good water resistance, making it popular for writing and sketching. It is generally considered a versatile, professional-looking brown. Color: A warm, golden-brown that can appear as a light sepia to a rich, milk chocolate depending on the nib and paper. Shading: High shading, transitioning between honey caramel and deeper pecan tones. Behavior: Generally good flow with moderate lubrication. Water Resistance: High/Moderate water resistance, making it suitable for sketching and mixed-media work. Drying Time: Average dry times, often cited between 20โ30 seconds, though some report faster times around 5 seconds on certain papers.

Great ink, but temperamental to nibs and paper.
The Poussiere De Luna (Moondust), often referred to also as the PdL, is a beautiful ink with a temperamental personality. It's a surprisingly dry ink and people often recommend using it with nothing less than a Medium nib (also giving the shading characteristic a chance to show up), but I have had success using it with an EF nib (Sailor Hocoro). Despite the dryness, which really calls for a wet nib to work, it is VERY particular with the kind of paper you use. Forget regular paper, and be careful when using coated papers like the MD (Midori) notebook paper as the ink flow becomes really bad and takes forever to dry - this quite unique to this ink as I have had no problems using other inks with my MD notebook. The ink also tends to bleed and feather with the MD paper, but much less so with the MD Cotton paper and the paperback-style Muji notebooks (though ghosting remains a problem). Apparently it works better with Tomoe River paper than the regular MD ones. All in all, a beautiful ink that requires the right pen and paper. If you are looking for a more friendly alternative, consider the Jacques Herbin Violet Imperial which is from their premium range. Diamine also offers a similar ink called Imperial Purple that's less temperamental but costs a bit more.

Great Black Ink
My favourite black ink. The colour is deep and the flow is smooth. Delivery was fast and packaging fine. Tiny leak contained within the packaging but totally acceptable.
