It seems crazy spending $150 to heat water, but it really is beautiful sitting on the stove. That said, we've had other quality tea kettles and they tarnished and stained. I was this with water or dish soap once and while and dry it. The finish looks like new after 2 months of daily use. -- We do remove it from the stove when we cook to avoid splatters. As for function, you should know a few things. 1. It does NOT whistle, which I kind of like. 2. If you let it boil, it will be VERY hot water due to the way the lid and spout increase pressure (I teach physics - higher pressure makes water boil at higher temp), so we turn it off when we start to see steam. 3. AT FIRST the handle is very hot, BUT the design of the handle makes it cool off fairly quickly. Just be careful and you will figure it out. Some people mentioned how hot the handle is, but they must have grabbed it right away in which case - use a pad or mitt! So style and function, to our minds, exceed anything we have ever used by standard top-name brands. - Ciao! (No, I swear, I do not work for this company, I teach.)

Having this on my stove is like living with an item from the Museum of Modern Art - it is in their collection...it is a joy to look at and it's wonderful to use. It is definitely a quality item unlike any tea kettle that I have ever seen - it is heavy steel, the finish is terrific and although it costs an arm and a leg, it is not just for boiling water (but it does that quickly and efficiently). I am fortunate to be able to own it....it was a requested birthday gift that my family all chipped in to give me!

I absolutely adore this design. And although not so functional (the handle heats up aggressively and water spills everywhere when you pour) I kept this kettle as I love the design. What I did not expect though was that the spherical knob on the lid is glued on and so after a year of use it came off. I reached out to alessi and they said to glue it back on with epoxy glue, however it comes off every few weeks and I don’t even use it that much. Disappointing for what was meant to be a fully stainless steel kettle that I didn’t imagine would need replacing.

Exactly what I was looking for. Recently moved to a new home with an induction stove, my older Alessi water kettle would not work, and this Alessi water kettle was exactly what I was looking for: modern design, made for an induction stove, good size to serve with guests, and made in Italy. So many newer kettles for induction are made overseas with cheap, super thin stainless and they look awful. This Alessi kettle is as perfect as possible. TIP: after use, and after it has cooled, dry the inside real good with a kitchen towel. Be sure the inside is completely dry and your Alessi kettle will last a long, long, long time. I love this Alessi kettle.

Unusual and attractive tea kettle. Heats well and fast. We enjoy using it. The only criticism that I would make is that the handle is a bit too close to the pot so when the pot is hot one has to be careful grabbing the handle. The handle itself does not get hot which is nice.

Nice looking kettle, but not functional, it did not whistle! I would like to get a replacement kettle that whistles. My son is an Interior Designer in NYC and he loved this kettle, said it was a conversational piece and he order it as a surprised as one of my house warming gifts. However, the first time i used it, it got damaged on the stove because it was supposed to whistle and did not whistle. This product is also very hard to clean, my hand cannot get inside of it.

Looks amazing, heats quickly on the induction hob. Simple but beautiful design. No plastic parts at all. Handle doesn’t get hot unless you let it keep boiling for longer than a minute. Hoping it lasts a lifetime. A quick wipe with a soft cloth leaves it looking shiny again. Stays sitting on our cooktop as we have used this to replace an electric kettle. Would highly recommend!

This is great--after the interior is cleaned, anyway. It took a bit of paper towel, rubbing alcohol, and elbow grease to remove gunk from manufacturing, particularly from where the walls meet the base and from the folded rim of the lid. It's nice there's no lead in this, but I don't want to drink unnecessary quantities of nickel or chromium either. Really is great once cleaned up, though. Water heats quickly and stays hot for a long time.

Ik denk dat ik zo'n beetje elke waterketel heb bekeken uit het wat hogere segment uiteindelijk voor deze gekozen, ondanks de toch vrij forse prijs. Dit omdat deze ketel mij oerdegelijk leek, en weinig onderdelen bevat die kapot kunnen gaan of los kunnen raken. Het design is ook super mooi en past zich makkelijk in bijna elke omgeving, omdat hij de omgeving reflecteert. Ik ben ook vanaf het eerste moment dat ik hem in mijn handen had verliefd op hem geraakt en kan nu elke dag echt niet wachten eindelijk weer water ermee te zetten. Ik gebruik de ketel samen met een inductiefornuis op de MAX stand. Het water wordt super snel warm. Het fornuis geeft bij een test aan dat de ketel 100% efficient is. Dit komt denk ik omdat hij een optimaal grote onderkant heeft. Van te voren had ik een aantal bedenkingen die grotendeels ongegrond bleken en ik hier wil toelichten: - de greep zou te heet kunnen worden om aan te raken - dit blijkt bij mij niet het geval, hij is altijd helemaal koud, ik denk ook, omdat het met inductie te snel gaat. De rest van de ketel, inclusief de deksel, wordt wel heel heet, dus niet aanraken! - ik kan niet zien en horen wanneer het water kookt - er is geen fluitsignaal, maar je ziet duidelijk een forse straal waterdamp uitstromen, ook verandert het geluid van het kookproces, je hebt vrij snel door dat het kookt. ook hoef je (en moet je) niet weg lopen van de ketel, het koken gaat zo snel dat je gauw je tee of koffie kan zetten. - ik kan niet zien hoeveel water erin zit - als je het dekseltje eraf haalt kan je vrij goed naar binnen kijken en je krijgt toch een gevoel voor hoeveel water je erin hebt zitten, ik vond het nog geen probleem - de buitenkant zou snel besmet kunnen raken - het is wel een glansend oppervlak, maar het is ook vrij makkelijk om schoon te houden, af en toe met een doekje erover heen Al in al ben ik dus super tevreden. Het is voor mij de beste manier om water te verhitten die ik ooit heb gebruikt en ik kijk nu stiekem naar meer Alessie producten om een klein ensemble te vormen :)

Der Wasserkessel für Induktion bringt 1 l Wasser innerhalb von einer Minute (!) zum Kochen. Das schaffen auch die hochwertigsten Kupfertöpfe nicht. Die liegen auf dem Miele Induktionskochfeld bei ca. 3 Minuten, ähnlich wie bei einem leistungsstarken elektrischen Wasserkocher. Letzterem ist dieser Wasserkessel weit überlegen. Das Design ist natürlich Geschmacksache, uns gefällts. Edelstahl ist für das Erhitzen von Lebensmitteln hygienisch ideal. Dieser Kessel besteht komplett aus Edelstahl. Die Themen BPA, PFOA, PFAS usw. spielen also keinerlei Rolle, weil keine entsprechenden Materialen verwendet wurden. Die Reinigung ist simpel. Von innen wird der Kessel sowieso beim Erhitzen des Wassers ausgekocht, von außen reicht meist schlichtes Abwischen. Erstaunlicherweise hat sich bei sehr kalkhaltigem Leitungswasser auch nach zweimonatigem mehrmals täglichen Gebrauch kein Kalk abgesetzt. Das ist hoch erfreulich! Der Kessel hat (zum Glück) keine Pfeife, brummt nur leicht auf dem Induktionskochfeld. Wegen der kurzen Aufkochzeit kann man sowieso in der Nähe des Kessels bleiben und braucht kein akustisches Signal. Man hört sofort, wenn das Wasser kochend brodelt. Der Deckel muss fest aufgedrückt werden. Dann sitzt er bombenfest und fällt nicht herunter beim Ausgießen des (heißen) Wassers. Anfangs muss man darauf ein wenig achten, nach spätestens 3 Tagen macht man das automatisch. Der Griff wird nicht heiß und hat genug Abstand von der Kesselwandung, sodass man sich daran nicht verbrennt. Der Preis ist hoch, wie üblich bei Produkten dieser Marke. Ob der Gegenwert stimmt, muss jeder selbst entscheiden. Alle Verpackungsmaterialien sind recyclebar. Der Kessel hält vermutlich ewig. Uneingeschränkte Kaufempfehlung.

I love this model, but it would be good if Alessi or the supplier could guarantee that the kettle was made in Italy and not a China copy. I was unsure until it arrived today - one week earlier than expected - and saw the stamp on the bottom together with a serial number authenticating its manufacture. This kettle is well made and worked perfectly on our Fisher & Paykel induction top. Problems I expected didn't happen, like the handle being too hot or the lid falling off, or pouring being awkward. The kettle boiled half-full in just over a minute, 3x faster than our standard Russell Hobbs model. It is beautifully constructed and perfect in every way, and the distinctive design makes our kitchen look quite stylish with it alongside our 15 year-old Dualit toaster. Great buy, fully recommended!
