It depends on the kind you get. I believe they are either nylon or stainless steel. The stainless steel is the most expensive option and lasts the longest.

What is the difference between the AMZ model on Amazon and the DS model on their own site?

As far as I can tell, it looks like the only difference is that this one comes with a booklet and popcorn whereas the other one does not. If you are considering buying this, it is a great buy. No more additives and preservatives in that microwave popcorn! Just a little oil, some sea salt, popcorn kernels, and 5 minutes later you have a whole pot full of popcorn! And if you can't finish it, just leave it in the pot till the next day or even 2 days later and it doesn't even get soggy! I love it!!
