Small and light yet mighty & well made
No spare o rings included, which really should be, but otherwise a quality item with stainless steel lance. Needs a clearer set of fill level markings, but this can be over written in permanent marker so you can at least see what gallonage remains. Small, powerful and portable, the larger 4+ gallon sets are too heavy to put on your own easily. Great for a third of an acre or so and last up to an hour from full at max flow. Needs fairly continuous pump priming at highest flow rates. Lance could be a bit short for taller people, but a range of accessories for the lance could improve this. Overall a good semi commercial set which is well built and should last, worth the extra money over cheaper alternatives.

Great sprayer. Here's a thorough review...
Overall - great performance, comfortable to wear, easy to use and clean. Seems very durable and well made compared to other sprayers in the sub-$100 price range. I'd recommend this sprayer to a friend. There are a few issues listed below (thus the 4 stars). Note, I paid full price for this XP312 sprayer. I have no connection to the company. I have some acreage and I plan to use this to spray organic pesticides on my large garden. I could not find a good review on Amazon or YouTube so I'll try to write a thorough one. Pros: - 3 gallon is a nice size. When it's holding 3 gallons there still plenty of air space in the tank to allow mixtures to be agitated. For my use, 3 gallon capacity is sufficient. The tank is thinner than other sprayers which means the center of gravity is closer to your back which makes it easier on the shoulders. - comfortable to wear. I thought I was going to hate not having a waist belt. However it is pretty good without a waist weld. The padding on the straps is pretty nice. The contour of the tank sits nicely on my back. It's easy to get on and off. When its hot outside, having a tank of cool water against your back is pretty nice! - Nicely designed and manufactured (with some exceptions noted below). Many other backpack sprayers seem to be designed by people with marketing degrees. This sprayer is clearly designed by people focused on function, performance, and durability. - The spray wand, tip, handle, hose, fittings, pump handle, pump assembly seem really durable. The hose, connections, and wand are larger in diameter and stronger than other sprayers I've seen. - spray pattern with cone nozzle is great. Unlike other sprayers, this nozzle will produce a fine mist. It can be adjusted to spray larger droplets when it's windy. It easily sprays a stream 20+ feet. - pump action is smooth and it only takes a few pumps to build pressure. - i can spray for 10+ seconds without a noticeable drop in pressure. This is important to me as I'm using it in my garden and I frequently am using my left hand to move plants, leaves, etc. I was worried that I'd have to pump too often but it's no problem at all. - it easily stands up on its own in the garden and on the lawn. - the pump handle and wand store vertically - simple design. few parts and connections to fail. other sprayers have so many locations for failures to occur. I'm a mechanical engineer familiar with DFMEA's (design failure mode effects analysis). one of the best ways to eliminate possible failures is to limit the features at which the failures can occur. In my Dad's (non-engineer) words "keep it simple stupid". - second nozzle included with mine. The cone nozzle came installed. There was a flat fan nozzle also included. - there is a small depression in the bottom of the tank which allows almost every drop of liquid to be pumped out. Cons: - hose is a little short for right handed use. This is the most annoying aspect of this sprayer so far. If I'm reaching far the hose gets hung up on the tank on the right side. I'd like the hose to be slightly longer such as it is on the Oregon branded version (Oregon 37-600 / BPS312). - the lever on the spray wand seems really weak. I could see this being the first part to break. After designing such a nice sprayer, why would you skimp out on the plastic lever. $0.10 more would provide a much more durable lever. - the storage clip on the pump handle gets in the way. I'm talking about the plastic clip that attaches the handle to the pump linkage when the handle is in the vertical storage orientation. the corners of the clip are a little sharp and I keep hitting the back of my left hand on it. (I'm using the sprayer in my vegetable garden and I often remove my left hand from the pump handle in order to move plant leaves.) - no extra seals included. This is common but come on Jacto. Raise the price $1 and include an extra set of seals and some lube in the box. Even if the original seals last 10 years, I'd like to have a spare set. Nothing makes me more frustrated than when a tool fails when I'm in the middle of a job and I have to order new parts and wait a few days. - the pump handle might be a little too close to the tank for some people. I wear a medium size t-shirt (US) and size 34 waist pants. The handle just barely clears my left side. It's fine for me now but if I ever put on 10-20 pounds, the lever might rub against my side.

Great sprayer, will spray diesel.
I needed a sprayer to spray herbicide mixed with diesel. Sent an email to these guys and within one day had my answer. All the sprayers they manufacture can spray diesel. None of the other guys, even for 3x the price, would say their sprayers could do that! Easy on the back, pump has excellent pressure, made from quality materials.

Works As well as higher price comparables. Satisfied
Very convenient. Works as it should. Have used several times with no problems. Beats carrying a tank around by hand. mid size tank capacity means it weighs less fully loaded. Easy lever style pump so it can be pumped up without interrupting the job. Light assembly but simple. I would recommend.

Good sprayer but not as good as prior Jacto model
I bought this sprayer to replace a Jacto sprayer that was at least 20 years old and finally wore out. I was very pleased with the old sprayer. This new sprayer is similar and a good sprayer, but has several changes that make it inferior to the older model. (1) The pump handle can be clamped to the frame in an upright position. This is handy, BUT you have to remember to unclamp it before loading the sprayer on your back. There is no way you can unclamp that handle while wearing the sprayer. You have to take it off, unclamp the handle and then put it back on. (2) The adjustment mechanism on the straps has been moved from the chest area to low on the straps and is much less convenient to adjust. (3) The operating valve on the new sprayer has a hair trigger. The slightest touch and it turns on. This is not a problem if you are broadcast spraying, but is a real hassle when trying to spot spray. It is very difficult to carry the wand without touching the trigger, and if you touch it it will be on and spraying whether you want it to or not. In summary, the new Jacto is still a good sprayer but not as good as the prior model.

Very disappointed on condition of product when it arrived.
When the item arrived the box was damaged (no protection inside the box). Of course there were broken parts inside. I was disappointed to see that the metal clips were not spring steal (you can bend them and I bent one trying to connect it), they won't last. Also parts that should be metal (for the price of this item) are plastic. I'm hoping that the item works when I receive the replacement parts.

Great small but powerful back pack sprayer
It is small and powerful. Just what I needed for my small house and lawn. It reaches the high eaves of the peak of my roof on the furthest setting. Easy to pump up and comfortable to wear---ergonomic. Feels sturdy. Just make sure your really get everything tightened down before you use it the first time or you will get soaked.
