Great brush. Switched over from badger.
I switched to this from a badger brush. Handle is nice, serviceable, bristles are softer on the tips than the badger I switched from but have just enough back bone to scrub which I like. Very comfortable, lathers fast and very very well. You can’t find a better brush for the money, you can’t find a better brush for many times the money in my opinion. For the price of one Starbucks coffee buy it, see if I’m right. If you agree, smirk in the mirror while you shave and think about what a smart whip you are! I see they are out of stock already…. Looks like the word is out! UPDATE Been using this brush exclusively since the above post. Have not found a single hair come out of it yet. Not one. Works like the day I bought it. Great brush. Buy two. If you wear the first one out you’ll regret not having a spare. Update it’s 2026! I’m still using it. It’s still awesome! Buy it!

Really nice for the price!!
This is a really good brush for being so inexpensive. It rarely sheds any hairs and is soft on the face. Also produces a decent lather when using a shaving mug. Can't really go wrong.

Great starter brush
First-time brush owner. Purchased Proraso shave cream not realizing it required a brush application so rather than spend big out of the gate (despite being tempted by the $80 brushes) I decided to start with an inexpensive brush just to see if I liked it. Pleased to report that this brush has been unexpectedly good for the price. After 6 weeks of use, it has yet to shed a bristle, has no smell, rinses easily, retains its shape and feels good on the face. Have also used it with regular shave foam and gel, and it definitely elevates that shave experience, as well. Again, my first/only brush (so not much with which to compare) but really couldn't be happier. Holding off on that high-end brush for now.

The trick is to soak in warm water for a few minutes first
I was initially not impressed with this brush. It did an "OK" job and after a few attempts, I just put it away. But then on a whim, I decided to change my approach a little. I soaked it in warm water for a few minutes, and then did my lathering routine. This one trick was a game changer and now this brush is back out of storage for the occasional use. For context, I have a Yaqi professional as my daily brush, and I'm extremely happy with it.

Good Option if Animal Hair is Not Your Thing
The RUBAB Cruelty Free Shaving Brush is an alternative to badger hair shaving brushes. It's a good attempt at replicating animal hair with synthetic fibers, but it fails in the execution stage. I've been shaving my head and beard daily for 12+ years and most of that time, I've used a silvertip badger hair brush. Silvertip brushes are at the top of the food chain for shaving brushes, but I wasn't expecting that type of brush when I ordered this one. I use Proraso shaving soap, which lathers vey well, enough to accommodate a first and second shave without applying more soap to the brush. Unfortunately, I was not able to get the same lather from the cruelty free brush; perhaps because it does not hold as much water as the natural hair brush, which will ultimately lead to using more shaving soap. The most disappointing aspect of the cruelty free brush was the mushy feel. Yes, it's soft as the description says, but the synthetic fibers mush against the skin instead of caressing it. It's hard to describe, so I'll just say it's not the brush for me. However, if using animal hair is offensive to you; this is a good option.

Good for a travel/spare/entry level ... not for everyday shaving.
First of all ... if you want a good shaving brush, this isn't it. This is adequate to use if you want to see what proper shaving is all about, as an entry-level sort of brush ... however, if you are wanting to experience a proper gentleman's shave, this will leave much to be desired vs. a badger hair brush. I am not sure that there is a market for people looking for an inexpensive shaving brush ... maybe the vegan market is in play? It seems if someone is going to go through the hassle of what it takes to use shave soap and a brush, they'd want to invest in a good shave brush. Here is whom might find this brush useful: - Vegans ... although the synthetic bristles lack the firmness of real badger hair, which helps froth up the shave cream and lift hairs on the face for a better shave, no badgers were harmed in the making of this brush. The bristles are soft and flexible, so those with sensitive skin might appreciate that ... but true fans of a shave know how envigorating stiffer bristles can be. - Those who travel and don't want to pack an expensive brush and shave kit. Even the most expensive badger bristle brushes need to be treated gently. If banged around, the bristles will fall out or become uneven. This is a nice alternative for a business trip because at under $10, you can knock it around a bit in a suitcase and replace it, if need be. - Someone who is thinking how cool the 'art' of shaving might be and wants to try it without committing to buy a top of the line shaving set. While shaving the proper way isn't rocket science, it also can be a hassle and I know a lot of people who spend $300 on a nice brush, bowl and straight razor who end up using it only a few times because of how time consuming it is. Overall, this is a classy looking brush. I'd never be able to tell based on looks that the bristles were synthetic. The handle looks like polished wood or stone and the underside has an embossed logo. It looks good on a shelf ... and looks much more expensive than it is. While I'd use this as a spare, or travel brush, don't believe all the influencers who say this is as good as a more expensive brush. It gives you the same shaving process with about 60% less feel. The packaging is good for gifting ... it comes in a cardboard tube. Perfect for a sticking stuffer with a metal safety razor for a little vintage vibe.

One of my favourite Amazon purchases ever. So soft! I can't believe I that I "endured" my last one for so long before eventually retiring it.

Not luxury but perfectly adequate, good value for money - pay a lot more and get slightly softer.

This shaving brush is really of good quality. I achieved good lather using a shaving cream. Even though the bristles are made of synthetic material, they are really soft and do not scratch the face. The handle is made up of wood which gives it the necessary weight when rotating the brush on the face. Highly recommended if you want a good quaity lather on your face.
