High quality lock and tough to pick!
I got this to practice locksport. I am still pretty new to the hobby, but I can pick some of ABUS' other locks. Definitely can't pick this one (yet), so it'll hold up to lower skill attacks! Feels quite sturdy and is a useful size. I unfortunately lost mine because I used it to lock up a UHaul and forgot to take it off before dropping off the vehicle. I will certainly buy another!

This is a German one.
See photo. The lock purchased from this listing is the one on the left. Itโs German made and much more difficult to pick. The one on the right is from a different listing, Chinese made, and much easier to pick. Both locks were virtually the same price. I bought these for locksport but may eventually put this one into service because itโs very high quality.

Great for locksport.
Great lock for a good price. 6-pin, of which 5 are security pins. Easy to re-pin. If youโre on the fence go for it.

It's not keyed alike, has spool pins, great for locksport, plus is half the price.
Normally twice the price, I thought it would be in a big lot of Keyed alike locks but surprise it was not. Has spools, great for locksport. This is a LOTO lock, it's made to be removed easily, but it isn't easy to pick.

Fun for locksport
I got this lock because 5 of the 6 pins are security pins, it has a tricky keyway, and was the cheapest lock that could be taken apart that I could find. This lock is a lot of fun for lockpicking, and would probably be very effective as a padlock as far as pick resistance is concerned, at this price point. One of my pictures shows the pins that was inside it; the lock came with all silver springs, I just happened to lose some when taking it apart and had to substitute my own.

Pretty and ......
I'm a beginning lock pick enthusiast and bought this for practice. It's a nice lock, solid and strong. However, I opened it with a lock pick in roughly 4 minutes. Still, it'll keep most kids out unless they know lock picking.

Good Lock
This is a good lock. I like the design and it matches the toolbox I bought it for. The only thing I don't like is the key design. The design if the key is ok, but doesn't match the style of the lock. All in all I would buy it again and highly recommend it to a friend.

Very sturdy
I had my garage broken into and had this lock on it. You might think that is a bad thing, but they couldn't cut or saw through this, they ended up breaking the door instead. I'd definitely buy this again.

Excellent lightweight lock for lockers and bins
This is a great lock! Lightweight for its size, but still sturdy. Easy to carry around. It has a lot of extra security features that makes it far more secure than your average big box store lock. Abus locks are difficult to find in Canada unless you are a business ordering from a distributor. First, the shackle is made of hardened steel and quite thick. The shackle is also held by ball bearings instead of a spring-loaded bar, preventing it from being shimmed (unlike the Abus 55 or 88Ti series). There are ball bearings are on both ends of the shackle so a thief will have to cut both ends to defeat this lock. The lock cylinder is 6-pin (note: unlike the Abus 72/30 or 64Ti) with a security pin and a tight keyway, making it more difficult to pick than your average consumer-grade padlock. This also means the key is a bit longer and the padlock itself is bit taller than most consumer padlocks. It is not impossible to pick but it is generally resistant to the basic "raking" lockpicking technique. Remember, to escape a bear, you don't have to run faster than a bear, you just have to run faster than everyone else! This should make a thief think twice and look for an easier lock to break into. The lock cylinder is removable. When you open the shackle, there is a Philips screw inside the hole you unscrew. The anodized aluminum finish is scratch-resistant, rust-resistant and as a bonus is shiny and quite pretty. It comes in a variety of colours. It should work well both outdoors and indoors, however if you need a lock in a particularly wet or humid environment, take a look at the 72IL/40 lock, which features a more rust-resistant (but not has tough) stainless steel shackle. For extra rust protection (but no shim protection) look at the Abus series of brass locks. For a bigger, beefier version of this lock, I would recommend taking a look at the Abus 83AL series which can sometimes be found at a very similar cost. Downside: the 83AL is twice as heavy and the shackle may be too thick to fit some applications. The 72/40 was designed as a medium security lock for electrical panels and industrial equipment ("Loto" in the product title stands for "LOTO", or LockOut/TagOut, a term for securing potentially hazardous or critical infrastructure) so I recommend it as a good portable padlock for use on lockers and outdoor storage bins. Note: This lock is provided as "Keyed Different" or "KD". This means the lock and key should be unique. You want that! Note that if you select "Keyed Alike" or "KA" your key will fit EVERY 72/40 in the world with the same colour! You probably don't want that! The KA types are usually only used for industry for Lock Out/Tag Out applications where it is convenient to have only a few set of keys to keep track of.

Nice compact lock
Nice little lock, it is the new style. Comes with 2 keys, with what appears to be some tough bitting which should make it challenging for picking.

Good shackle, but no reply from vendor for etching
Bought this to etch initials as a gift and it fit the bill. The only issue is that in the description, it states "etching available". I contacted Amazon, they directed me to contact the vendor, then contacted the vendor and... crickets. So I had my etching done at a local shop, which resulted in neat metal etched letters. Happy with shackle overall.

Now here's a challenge!
Small keyway, this lock has proven to be most difficult to pick for me. Got some thinner picks, so here's hoping! :D
