24V 40VA Thermostat and Doorbell Transformer, All Versions of Ring Doorbell

I purchased the EPLZON 24V 40VA Transformer primarily for a non-doorbell application: powering my whole-house humidifier. Even though it's marketed heavily toward Ring and thermostat systems, it performed flawlessly for my HVAC accessory needs. The installation was straightforward, and the unit immediately supplied the necessary 24V power. It has been running continuously for weeks, maintaining a steady output with absolutely no operational issues or excessive heat. This 40VA rating provides plenty of headroom for various low-voltage devices. If you need a dependable, high-quality replacement or new installation transformer for any compatible 24V system—whether it’s a smart doorbell, thermostat, or a humidifier like mine—this EPLZON model delivers reliable, consistent performance. First I will say that the transformer works flawlessly as advertised. Immediately after getting it installed I knew as soon as I went to the front door to check the voltage on the doorbell that it was outputting the specified voltage. The light on my original doorbell was 10 times brighter that before. I did a voltage check anyway to confirm and it was 27 volts. That is expected and normal for this transformer while not under load. Under load it is 24v. Now, for the part I did not consider and one I would like to at least warn others about being a possibility. If you are getting this transformer, it is almost certainly because you are replacing an original anemic one that came with your older house. Mine was built in 92 and had a 10v 5va transformer. It was about half the size of this one. And of course, the people that built my house put the old transformer in a wall box behind the doorbell chime with all the wires stuffed in beside it. Well guess what? Yep. Im addition to violating code of not having high and low voltage wires running in the same box, this new transformer didn't come close to fitting in the same space as the original. Queue what should have been a 2 minute replacement job turning into a three day ordeal costing me an additional roughly 130 bucks and more than a fair share of frustration to completely reroute and rewire a wall and move the transformer into the attic. So, you know, just keep that possibility in mind. Hopefully the electricians that wired your house didn't do anything so stupid and it will just take you 2 minutes to replace.

Purchased this to increase power to my Ring doorbell Pro. Even though my house is only two years old the16V transformer was inadequate. In the Ring app, it said my power output was level 2. Just enough to keep it powered, but not adequate to make my doorbell chime work when the button was pushed. I also know that the old transformer was very hot when I took it off meaning it was being overworked. Now since I installed this new one, I’m at level one power output, and my doorbell chime works loud and clear. Actually better than it did before. The only negative thing I have to say about this product, the mount on the transformer was bent pretty badly. But I used the wiring port to screw it to a face plate instead so I didn’t need the four screw mount. Great product, easy to install size is typical for a transformer like this. Definitely Ring compatible and I recommend it..

First one did not work, but the company quickly sent me the second one. The second one work just fine. I use it for a doorbell. And it’s been working for at least six months now. Walter is good. It wasn’t difficult to figure out how to attach to electrical. But I do wish the instructions were a little bit better.

Provides the power needed to run my video doorbells. Used as a replacement for a less powerful transformer that didn't meet power requirements.

Died within a couple hours and when I first hooked it up, was already below voltage...21v. Looking through all these transformers, a lot of people have been returning them. I'm going to see if ring has an official one because these seem to be garbage.

This is a good product. It replaces the transformer that seems to sit, lonely outside my AC unit with the coils in the fan. The inside part of the central air conditioner. Not the outside part. One little reminder. Turn off the power before you connect it. It turns out if you accidentally touched the two connectors together with a metal screw driver- it doesn’t matter how smart you are. You’re gonna be ordering a new one. I figured I could order four of them and it was still less expensive than an air conditioner guy coming to my house and replacing it. So it’s still a win just win better than me.
