If you could only have one pedal this would be a good choice
I love everything about this pedal, starting with the sparkle blue finish. This thing is ready versatile, with the ability to use your dry tone along with one or two octaves up and/or down. Each octave knob along with the dry tone can be adjusted to your desired level as each one has a dedicated knob which acts like a simple volume control for each respective octave (or dry signal). There is a mono button you can press to switch the octave effect between monophonic (the pedal works with single notes) and polyphonic (the pedal works with multiple notes, chords, etc.) so you have the choice there. There is also a fuzz button which applies some sweet fuzz to your tone. The only downside here is that you can't control the level of fuzz applied, but you can make adjustments to the tone and volume on your guitar to change the characteristic of the fuzz. Lastly they packed in a modulation knob which drives either their Phase 90 phaser effect, or a Leslie/rotating speaker effect depending which mode you have the pedal in (monophonic of polyphonic). So at the end of the day you are getting a very versatile octave pedal, a fuzz pedal, a phaser, and a Leslie emulator... all in a $200 dollar pedal. This one is a no brainer.

It's incredible!
Nothing to dislike. It exceeded my expectations. I have purchased 2 other octavers (I won't mention the brands but one was cheap and the other not so much less in cost as this MXR Poly Blue Octaver but neither could touch it, no way! They would perform well on mono (unchoosable, really) but on any chords they are dreadful. I am mainly a rhythm guitarist and this MXR is incredible. The organ-like and bell-like effects open the door to inspiration and experimentation in my playing like no other pedal I've owned before and since I play alone, as many others do as well, it can add fullness and unbelivable dynamics to playing solo. I was gambling on laying out $200 for it but I am NOT sorry I spent it now. I've bought >200 even >100 guitars so 200 for a mere pedal seemed high but this is no MERE pedal. Sombody did their homework developing the MXR Poly Blye Octaver and it's worth the price of admission.

A different POG/pitchfork that's great for doom
I have several octave and pitch pedals. This one is unique in that it does something different than your traditional pitch shifter. As far as I can tell you cannot actually "dive" this pedal. You cannot start at one pitch and ramp to another. Instead this pedal offers 4 octaves -2,-1,1, and 2 and you can blend them all together. The expression pedal works by setting your pedal at 0 and setting the pedal one way and then pushing the pedal all the way down to set another setting, the expression pedal sweeping between the 2 and even triggering the fuzz if needed. I think this pedal is great for Doom/Sludge as you can create a controllable sub-frequency push to your signal.

Great pedal!
This is a fantastic pedal. In mono mode its very close to the OC-2 type of thing, but much louder and deeper in the low end. The poly mode is really fun and can get pretty crazy, but ive noticed on bass if u use it in poly and only use -1 octave with no dry it has a little latency. Im currently using it on bass and its a ton of fun! Havent tried it ok guitar yet, or tried using an expression pedal, but its a great octave pedal and tracks pretty well. In mono it tracks similarly to the Vintage Bass Octave or the Boss OC-2, but in Poly mode it tracks very well. The blue sparkle finish looks really good too

Ridonculous!
This pedal packs a metric tonne. If it were just +2/-2 clean octaves and nothing else it's worth the price, and when I say clean I mean it even puts out a clean signal at -2 octaves of the low-B on my 5-string bass. Add in modulation, 3 variations of fuzz, and mono/poly switching it truly is a ridonculous value. 10/10 no cap, as the kids say.

accurate tracking
best octave pedal i've come across. even using all four octave ranges, 2 uo 2 down tracks seemlessly. the modulation effect is very interesting to play around with. one very small issue is the pedal on indicator: it's super bright and a bit annoying compared with other boxes more subtle idicators. i had to put a bit of green painters tape over it. again, minor.

Solid
A bit noisy but a lot of fun.

Hated this pedal.
I would do weird, unpredictable things with my Pedal Power supply. And since you cannot use a battery with it, it was essentially useless to me. I sent it back right away.

Fans of Octaver here is a peace ✌️ of cake an expensive one I got to admit but worth it. In my setup it is powered independently with the power adapter that came with the pedal to ensure a noiseless experience. The Lesly effect (and any setting) which can be use with an expression pedal is a big plus for me.
