The range scale shows as you get close to a cable.
Good purchase, i like how the indication bars shows indication [one bar] as you approach a cable then increases to full bars when dead close.

Expensive gimic
Good morningThe meter is far too sensitive, it was allwase saying that there was electrical cable or live currant, it took me ages to drill some holes, for the price that they are charging it should be more accurate

Apparently my first negative review was rejected even though it was to the point and factual!! And there were others on the site with the same issue. First time that's happened.

Quality stud finder
Bought this as saw a review of it on the Internet that compared a selection of stud finders, this did very well compared to some of the units that were four times more expensive. I am an occasional DIYer so for the occasional use to price ratio this was right on the money
