Quietly, power through tough food scraps and waste with Frigidaire Food Waste Disposers. Our tough, stainless steel Torque Master® Grinding System is equipped with Sliver Guard® for safely keeping most metal out of your disposer, and BIOSHIELD® for protecting against odors and food residue. A 3-Bolt design makes installation a cinch with a removable splash guard for easy cleaning. Each disposer comes with a 3-Year Product and Corrosion Lifetime Warranty. Review: Plastic housing came cracked but works fine. I’d spend the extra money to have in put in another box for shipping to protect it. Review: Yea, title says it all. First, Frigidaire is a great name in appliances that takes second place to no one. Second, it has a stainless steel grinding plate with a lifetime rust-out warrantee and 6 year overall warranty. Third, the price point for a 1/2 HP, stainless steel, 6 year disposal unit is excellent. Installation is on par with any disposer unit; mounting the disposer is trivial. Most of the work is getting the retaining ring-clip onto the bottom of the sink clamp assembly. Buy a small tub of plumbers putty at a big box store for $1.50 and you are good to go. None of the disposers come with putty. It’s cheap; why not just put a 2 or 3 oz blob in the box … anyway. I had a 1/3 HP Whirlaway that was installed when the house was built 25 years ago. That is another sleeping giant for quality and value. Seriously, 25 years for a “value” disposer! Motor was still fine but the grinding plate rusted out and something broke off then threw it off balance. It was shaking the entire house. I would have just done a direct replacement with another Whirlaway but at 1/2 HP (as a slight upgrade) Whirlaway was a week+ for delivery. That would have been a 3 minute replacement using the existing mount on the sink. I did all the usual searching and reviews and obviously was leaning toward Insinkarator but I also wanted stainless steel this time so no entry level Badger was going to work. Stainless Insinkarators take you up into the $200 minimum range and are no longer compact so also would have required a complete redo of the plumbing to get one to fit. To me, for a disposer that sees minimal usage, that much money + the extra work to install it was a non-starter. The Frigidaire fit the same compact location without any modification to the drains / plumbing, has a stainless grinder, 6+ year warrantee, and runs well. It’s much quieter than the prior one but maybe that’s not a fair statement because I really don’t remember what the other one sounded like 2 decades ago. No, it’s not silent, but you could easily have a conversation while using it without raising your voice. It only runs a few times a week for less than 10 seconds per run so the sound level was not a concern but is a welcomed feature. Yes, there is a “clack” at startup from the anti-jam cams engaging, but I can snap my fingers more loudly. It’s barely noticeable if you turn on the water before the disposer. In that case it’s just a soft “click”. I’ve never used my disposal as a substitute for a garbage can and I don’t plan to start doing so now. I find disposals to be a convenient way to deal with small scraps that would otherwise clog a drain. If you agree, a 1/3 or 1/2 HP unit is a great kitchen helper. If you are in the camp that likes to feed 5 pounds of garbage at a clip down your drain, you probably want a larger machine or maybe a wood chipper 😉

I don’t do reviews, but this thing warrants it. I had a badger that had died after only 5 years, and only had a 3 year warranty. So this Frigidaire seemed a great balance of power and affordability. On top of that, it has a 12 year warranty. It has double the power of the same priced badger, is much quieter than the badger, and has 4x the warranty. Absolutely fantastic purchase

I love my new garbage disposal! Its very quiet compared to the one that was replaced, a 30+ year old one. My husband installed it and the worst part was getting the old one out. It’s nice and compact so leaves enough room for storage under the sink. No more loud rumbling and vibrations, which happened with the old one even when it was new. I told my husband "It's like music to my ears" because it's so much quieter....makes me happy every time I use it. I'm probably easier to please than many people and simple things make me happy😊. It had good reviews and so far, I agree!
