ONce you make the mistakes - it's great!
Once I got done making a couple dumb mistakes - it works great! Specifically, the Battery/transmitter must be used with the unit being controlled; in my case, a cable box. It you're wanting to control other TV's in other rooms being driven by that single cable box, you must get more hand held controllers from the cable company. Luckily, my cable company supplied me with 3 extra channel changers for free. (Guess my monthly bill made them generous!) Then you must pair each individual TV to be controlled to that specific controller. (The instructions to do this come with the channel changer). The result is that when you press "System" the hand held unit will turn on the TV and control the volume. It will also send a signal to the cable box to turn on, and then select the various channels, etc. Be careful where you set the "eye" that sits in front of the unit being controlled to the saucer. It's fairly sensitive.

Best Product - Exceeded my expectation
I am having a full home theatre seup including Optoma HD66 projetor.I wanted to cover all my home theatre equipments inside a wooden cabinet. But after closing the doors my home theatre receiver and satellite receiver did not work with my IR remote. Then after searching in Amazon.com I came to know about "Next Generation Remote Control Extender". Today I received this product. Directly from the box, I could able to setup without any instruction and now all my remotes works when the doors are closed. Even it works from another room. I am extremely happy about this product and sellers service.

It works, would be nice if they included a two eye cable
I purchases this with the intention of using two devices. The whole system works great, but unfortunately, they do not include a two eye cable with this. Once you plug the one eye cable that is included in the original system, you have to use the cable system, the eye on the base unit will no longer work (I was hoping to use the base unit and the one eye cable at the same time). I cannot leave a negative review since it clearly states what's included in the box. I'm leaving this review so that folks like me who assume that it would come with a two eye cable don't make the same mistake as I did. You will have to buy the 3 eye cable (don't see a 2 eye) for around $18 in addition to this unless you use the base unit for your whole system.

Extended RF Remote Battery
This is a wonderful product. I got an extra battery transmitter to go with the main unit so I'd have an extra. Now I can control my DVR which is in the kitchen, and use remotes in two other parts of the house without having to go where it's located. Works great and holds the charge for a long time.

Extra RF Battery
I own 2 complete sets and one extra battery-transmitter. All of the equipment worked fine right out of the box.I have a three story home and have had no trouble with the signal, from the top floor to the basement. Next-Gen. works well with all 3 of my Direct TV remotes. It should be noted that Next-Gen.makes two distinct sets. One works at 433mz and the other works on 418mz.The 433mz is the most common, and the transmitter-battery has blue printing. Also, 433 is printed on the reciever. These components must match. The 418 battery- transmitter has red printing and can only be used with a 418 reciever. Those people who are having trouble may have mis-matched components. The vendors on Amazon should make this very clear. Finally,I believe that the two seperate Mz sets are offered so that closely situated people (Apts.etc) can operate seperate sets of electronic equipment without interference.

Something wrong with the newer units
I have (2) of the 433MHz Plus Receivers, (1) I am using in my house and (1) stored as a backup. I have (5) DirecTV Remotes working great without any problems. They all have "LRRX-2" labels and are blue text. I decided to purchase (2) additional Transmitters from a Smarthome. Neither one of them worked. I sent them back and purchased (2) more from Yagoozon and neither one of them worked. I then purchased (4) from Phototech hoping (2) of the (4) would work. None of the (4) worked. All (8) had the blue text and the "LRRX-2" printed on them just like the ones I own that work. The light on the Receiver comes on when I press the power button on the remote but nothing happens. I have also tested the transmitter in a working remote with the same results. I purchased the original receiver October 2014 from Amazon and (4) additional transmitters at later dates with no problems. This system is very easy to use, basically plug and play. I hope Amazon can solve this problem. The system works better than anything I have tried in the past.

Works great! Try this trick if your battery transmitter doesn't work out of the box. . .
This is perfect as a second battery transmitter so that you always have one charged and ready to go. When I first received this battery transmitter, it did not work. It would charge, but it would not transmit a signal. I ended up twisting the outer sheath (with the printing) around the inner core and tried it again. It worked fine after that. I'm not sure why, but I'm passing that on for anyone else who has problems with this transmitter not working.

Just great
I ordered this as a replacement for the original transmitter that came with the NGHP remote extender, which got overheated and destroyed due to a short circuit inside the remote. The replacement works just as good as the original one, is fully compatible with my existing NGHP receiver. Note that this item includes not only the transmitter but also one rechargeable 2/3 height AAA battery and an AA size plastic sleeve. Either if you lost or ruined your original NHGP remote extender's transmitter or you just want to extend an extra remote control using the same receiver, this is the perfect choice. Note that although the picture shows a red coloured transmitter (418MHz) this is actually a blue transmitter compatible with 433MHz receivers only. Bottom line: Highly recommended.
