A Utilitarian Work of Art
Now I don't usually fool with reviewing knives. Pretty basic stuff. But this critter is one of a kind - in a good way. How it is deployed is like no other, and while it takes a bit of practice the effect is truly captivating. I bought one of these many years ago when the design first hit the streets and have purchased any number of them after to have backups as well as giving away to "techie" friends. If you're a gizmo head, you're going to like this unusual knife. For those wondering about if it's a good knife (as opposed to a nifty toy) the answer is yes. Once deployed it's solid with none of that annoying play, it's sharp and holds a decent edge, and is a good carry knife while being something you can fidget with at the same time. The only warning I might offer is that if you have dexterity issues, this might not be the knife for you. But if you like unique designs that depart from run-of-the-mill, you're going to love this one.

Super cool
Lovely little pocket knife. Wanted something a little lighter than what I used to have and it definitely is. It looks pretty for a skeletonized knife and the locking feels good. It's certainly not for harder use but as a general cutting application it's just fine. Keep it sharp and it'll serve you well. It's interesting locking style makes it look cool to open and attracts some attention from other people.

Unique addition to your EDC kit
I have been eyeing this knife for years and never convinced myself to get it as I was worried the opening mechanism would be just a cheap gimmick. Once I got my hands on one, however, I was hooked! The overall fit, finish, and build quality are excellent and it is razor sharp right out of the box. It's light weight makes it a great addition to an EDC kit with plenty of blade for every day tasks. As always, CRKT hits it out of the park with a unique, functional, and quality knife for WAY less than it appears to cost.

Bad pocket clip location.
The knife is very cool. Nice and sharp out of box. The flip action took a few minutes to get the hang of, and doable with one hand. My only issue and why I dinged it a star is the pocket clip. It is too low on the knife and at an angle. Since there were screws on both sides I thought it might be interchangeable for sides. Nope. So when I put in my right pocket it is at a 45 degree angle in my pocket and sticking out about an inch. I wish the clip had been attached to the top where they put an eyelet for a lanyard. (Which it did come with). I’m not sure if it will work for me as an every day carry. I don’t like the idea of a knife loose in my pocket without the clip.

Awesome head turner of a knife. I've never taken it out without someone commenting.
These knives are fantastic gifts, such as novel design. I keep one in my desk as a letter opener and have never had it out without someone commenting on it. They open by flipping out horizontally from the handle, not the traditional vertical fold into the handle. Also light weight and from a great manufacturer. 2.5" blade, 4.25" closed, 6.25" open. Be careful learning how to open this with one hand, the blades are very sharp. There are some videos out there but the key to opening one handed is having a firm grip on the top and bottom edges while still being able to press the cam enough to open. Once learned it can be mastered quickly.

A sharp looking sharp blade
Unique, attractive design. Comfortable to hold. Relatively easy to open with one hand after a little practice. Solid locking mechanism so far. I’ll see how that holds up over time. Perfect for light duty pocket knife needs.

Good EDC
Nice knife, took a bit to get used to the unique opening device. Now it is one of my EDC's. Came with an outstanding edge on it.

Great light duty EDC
This is a great little knife for the price. It is small enough to be compact and large enough to be useful at a 2.5 inch blade length, It came shaving sharp from the factory and so far in 4 months worth of light daily use for cutting boxes etc, I have still not had to sharpen it. It fits nicely in a jean pocket and has a super slim profile so you forget its even there except when you need it which I really like. Its super light too which is also nice. Its fun to open and close (making a satisfying "snap" sound) and people notice it both for its unique manner of opening and it's skeletal/steampunkish styling. The large brass bushing inside of the cam gives a nice little pop of color too. If you are looking for a very affordable light duty knife that is both fun, stylish and functional, this is a great option. There is only one con I can find about it, and that is while the blade is locked from side to side play very securely I am not sure of the strength of the pins it pivots on and the flexibility of the frame if you were to bear down really hard on the handle while cutting I suspect you might be able to dislodge the blade from the handle, but it would take some pretty serious pressure which this is not a knife for heavy tasks, so if you break it doing that, you probably should be using a heavy duty knife.
