Protek PX100B 10-Sheet Crosscut Paper Shredder, Black

This shredder is so efficient and quite I couldn't believe it was working...and it passed the 10 sheet test....the unit is quite heavy...very well built and efficient .....I was also surprised to learn it HAS to be on the receptical for the unit to operate...nice safety feature...best purchase money can buy in a residential use shredder...SMK

After 5-months of moderate regular use & NEVER putting anything thicker than 8-pages in, the green light just stayed on last week. So I emptied the bin (only 3/4 full) and put top back and green light was steadily back on again when I switched it to auto-detect paper and shred. IT WON'T WORK AT ALL ANYMORE! I can't understand this. I spent an hour cleaning every single piece of paper out of the gears by using the left setting to clear the shredding gears, then doing it manually by hand. There's not one single piece of paper anywhere in the gears, yet IT STILL WON'T WORK with the green light constantly ON when I push the switch to the right to shred (the signal for a jam). BUT THERE IS NO JAM!!!

I like this shredder since it does a great job. It has one drawback that my old shredder did not have. Our old shredder had a pull out drawer so when the shredder was full we just took out the drawer and dumped the shredded paper. With this one the whole shredder top must be removed to empty the paper. It's just not as convenient to use as the old one.

Well you get what you pay for...The paper got jammed and their is no reverse button.Lesson learned.

So far works great. Our old one still worked, it was one of those where you could push down on the top of the shedding mechanism to compress the cut up pieces this not need to empty as often. One side of it no longer recoiled which made for an annoying need to hold the unit up by the handle to shred. Did this for quite a while, but finally decided to get rid of it and replace with one lacking that feature. This was offered at a good price and does the job!

Does a great job. Love the power, 10 sheet shredder, and the price was great.

Very disappointed! Completely dead when it arrived. Only light works on it but no shredding. Am I missing something simple? Tried contacting amazon or pro shredder but I don't see where to do that at. I bought this back in July when my other one went out and this is the first time I went to use it and.... nothing! I would be happy to delete this review and write an updated one is this is made right. I would be happy with a credit since I already ordered another shredder. I couldn't even order the same shredder because it is now a higher price. I just want what I bought. Come on AMAZON! NO STARS... if it wasn't required to leave a review!

It stopped up the first day I had it. It clogs at the top of the shredder and wont feed anymore papers after so long. I finally cleared it out the first time and it continues to stop up on the top making almost impossible to shred several documents even one page at a time. I wont buy again and I am not happy with it.
