Quantum Apogee Underwater Full Spectrum Meter MQ-510

This is an easy-to-use product, and I am still exploring it. I hope to provide an instruction manual.^_^

Works much better than the original Apogee PAR meter. The original meter was reading 135 above what this PAR meter read. After adjusting my lights with the new meter, my corals are back to growing again.

Not a good purchase experience at Amazon. A old model was sent to me as new model should have blue sensor. Scratch everywhere which to me means this is not a new old. Seems used one. Box unsealed before send as you can see there’s two round label (image should blue sensor). On box.

measured light levels

Everyone that knows anything about lights and plants knows that PAR is the way to measure how much light a plant is really getting. This device measure just that, accurately and very simply. Unfortunately, i believe that this product is slightly expensive for what it really is--it seems you mostly end up paying just for the quantum sensor itself and very little resources were put into designing an update handheld device. I ended up buying a used mq500 version of this device from a friend for a much better price. For this, I give it 4/5 instead of 5 stars.
