This tool does work good, recommend using a pair of pliers or channel locks and slightly squeeze the sides of the magazine to assist in removal.

Works Great But You Must Also Have a Vise Grip to depress near the base of the magazine.

Very simple and cost effective tool that saves so much headache. This allows you to remove the base plate on your mags to replace them or to clean or replace a part. Helps so much since a person only has to hands. If you have done this before you know. For anyone doing this for the first time, the plate and spring are under tension so be mind full it could go flying if you do not have your thumb over it as the base plate comes off.

This tool is extremely easy to use and makes removing the floor plate almost effortless. It works on 9 and 45 size mag floor plates. Built well with all metal construction. It also comes with a fancy drawstring storage bag.

It works as intended. If you're having problems just put some muscle behind it. It was pretty tough to get it off. I was reading other reviews about using a towel and other stuff, but the tool is all I needed. It's a well made aluminum tool. Update: After using it on a few mags I see one con. The only problem I see with this tool is is does mess up the hole a little bit on the baseplate, as you can see in my picture. I have to pry so hard that it messes up the plastic. I wouldn't want to clean my mags too often, or this tool is going to wear it down so much that I'm not able to take off the baseplate. I added the other scratch to the baseplate. It's number 3 so I can keep track of my mags. Keep in mind this is the first time I've done this, so it could be user error. Just thought I'd mention it. It happened on three of my mags.
