Fast acting, killed fleas within 24 hours
I let my 3 indoor cats outside on a whim last week, and a couple days later noticed they began scratching vigorously behind their ears. This isn’t my first rodeo, I needed to act fast. Their skin was being irritated by flea bites. I bought a few boxes of these tablets after reading Amazon’s reviews. The tablets are smaller than my pinky nail. I crushed one tablet up for each cat and put it in their wet food, except for one cat who HATES wet food, so pressed the crushed-up tablet powder it into a small ball of soft cheese. None of my cats noticed it in their food at all. I spotted some dead fleas in their bedding within 24 hours. It really does work impressively fast. But be advised, they make it very clear on the packaging and in the instruction booklet that these tablets ONLY kill adult fleas. But honestly, getting rid of those adults fast is such a great improvement for the cats health. They are no longer scratching or irritated. To take care of any flea eggs and larvae, I separately purchased the topical ointment. I also washed bedding and treated carpeted areas and furniture with pet friendly flea killer to nip the whole problem in the bud. Done and done!

Only Product that Cleared our Infestation
We had a sudden flea explosion where I am at due to an unnaturally warm winter. We tried everything from the most expensive, name brand topicals, oral medications, bathes, sprays and foams and powders for the floors and furniture and everything in between with no luck -- if anything, it seemed to keep getting worse. My cats had blisters and contact dermatitis from them; it was absolutely horrible and I was terrified they were going to get sick from how many we were finding. We were getting bit, leaving welts on our skin from small, black fleas. I have four cats. Advantage is expensive. Every other big name brand with promises to eliminate them are. I couldn't keep paying almost a hundred dollars for one month's worth of treatments that - did not work-. I decided to give this a try after seeing the reviews, and come on, three treatments per cat for less than one treatment with Advantage and other brands? Of course it felt like a steal, though we went into it cautiously, recognizing that it may not work, as well. We expected a continued battle with fleas. The reviews reflected, "Just one dose and you'll be saved!" and I didn't believe it, but we had no choice -- we had to try something and everything our vets recommended didn't work. I got this. We applied it immediately to all four cats. We waited. I was shocked to see, by the very next day, that my babies were still itching, but it wasn't frantic. They were not yowling, twitching, rushing us to be scratched as hard as I could manage. They weren't climbing me and my roommates for help. The day after, I was going about my business as usual. Except it wasn't usual...because I realized, halfway through the day, that I hadn't been "bothered". No one was rushing me. I wasn't tripping over a tormented cat. I went downstairs to check, and all four were laying peacefully in sun spots, stretched out, and asleep!! ASLEEP!! They had been waking up constantly while being bit. By day three, none of them were itching. We combed through them, removed the dead fleas, and continued on our way. I wanted to see what would happen with the eggs - nothing else had stopped them. Even Advantage did nothing. It has been two weeks and we are not being bitten, the contact dermatitis has cleared in all four cats. Their skin and fur are fantastic, they're all relaxed and at ease again, and we still have two more treatments available if they do come back, and for maintenance. I don't review very often. I don't trust a lot of reviews. But please, please, please do not let the low price fool you -- I am quickly finding that more expensive does not mean higher value. My cats' lives were miserable on every other product. We have spent in the high hundreds on products to help them. We gave up on accepting vet help because they just recommended the same products over and over again and made us feel like we were not doing our best to get rid of the infestation -- regardless of the also hundreds spent on products to keep them off of furniture and carpet. This. Worked. For. Us. It was the ONLY thing that worked. My oldest female is cuddling and happy and at ease again. She was the worst of the four. Her scabs from the bites are healing quickly -- something that wasn't happening due to the constant re-introduction of fleas every week. Please try it. Please.

A great way to start treatment
I noticed fleas on my dog so I had to assume they were on my cats as well. I started with Capstar in the morning. Gave my cats a flea bath in the afternoon, combed through their fur with a flea comb, and virtually no fleas were on the comb. I can only assume that Capstar did the initial work. Once my cats were dry, I followed up with Advantage II to complete their flea treatment. I will likely repeat the whole cycle in a month. But my cats are happier already and not scratching anymore.

Great medication highly recommended
Capstar Package was in a plastic bag in a box with a heavy detergent bottle so that is probably why the boxes with the medication was slightly flattened and open. The actual medication package was not disturbed so that was a good thing as you will see in the pictures. The expiration date is fine. Had the actual medication package been open or ripped or smashed , it would've been returned.

Wish I’d known sooner
I always thought flea medicine was topical OR oral. Recently at pet supplies store, I told the clerk I’m thinking about changing to a different topical for my dog because his usual doesn’t work. She told me topical is better for prevention, and Capstar oral is good for existing infestations. she said it’s typically safe with a topical, so I bought some. She wasn’t sure about cats, though. About an hour after giving it to him, I gave him a bath (with a chemical free shampoo) and dead fleas were falling off of him. So, I did some research for cats and Capstar’s website says it’s safe with a topical, so I bought a 12 pack (I have 2 cats). On one, I see the occasional flea, the other though, has thick fur and is always covered in fleas and flea dirt. Before giving this to him, I went through him with a flea comb and easily combed out 5-10 lively fleas. I gave it to him and the very next day I combed out 3-4 completely dead fleas. There was only 1 that was alive, but barely. It was easier than expected to deliver, I just cut the pills into quarters and mixed it in with a little dish of tuna. Both cats gobbled it down without hesitation, and one can usually smell a pill from a mile away. It only works for 48 hours, and the life cycle of a flea can be more than 30 days. So, my plan is to give it to each of the animals every 5 days to get all the new adults. Based on the results so far, I’m confident we can fully and finally rid them all of the fleas that have been making them miserable for weeks.

Crazy FAST!
Capstar never fails! I put an old bed sheet over my comforter because I know our "kids" take refuge there and I wanted to protect my linens (& find out how bad the situation was). Start a timer! 15 minutes after a single dose is administered (1 tab each) all 3 of our cats were going bananas scratching and licking..the fleas were on the run!! 30 minutes into it, the 3 were still scratching but not as wildly. At 45 mins they were all 3 sound asleep in bed!! The 1 hour mark I found WAY MORE fleas than I ever had imagined on the sheet - they are just falling off DEAD. [See picture- every dark dot is a dead flea - and its just a few of the way too many!! I have since gathered every single piece of their bedding throughout the house and put it through a sanitizing cycle in the washer., I will take every measure available to eliminate this issue!! Capstar held up to their promise; the rest is up to us to take further preventative measures; it worked crazy fast and I believe it's still working even six hours later. Capstar has my business for life!! Stop reading and start ORDERING!!! THANK YOU CAPSTAR!!!!!!
