I've purchased the 1/4" size sleeving a few different times, for use in dressing up speaker wire. The 1/4" size fit both 14/2 and 12/2 copper wire with no issues. The 12/2 was more of a snug fit, but not at all a problem to put on, and I'd say "snug" is a good thing overall. If you haven't worked with this type of sleeve / jacket before, it's worth knowing that the weave means it expands and contracts in width like the classic "Chinese Handcuffs" toy - press a length in and it gets wider, pull tight and it constricts. The snug fit over 12/2 wire might mean you don't get a full 30' of length, but I'd expect you could easily make a 25' speaker cable, or 2 cables at 12.5', with one jacket. The 30' length converts to 10 M in metric if you are looking at options labeled that way. There's an Alex Tech branded cable jacket available that I think offers a slightly better feel - the weave is a bit tighter and the jacket feels softer and closer to a fabric type weave, while this one can feel a bit plastic-y. But the Alex Tech product only offers solid black and two basic color patterns, while this one offers more color / pattern options and comes at a good price. Once it's installed, you will appreciate the cool look, but aren't likely to spend a lot of time rubbing the cable to see how it feels. If you're making speaker wires, pairing this with some heat shrink tubing, "cable pants", and banana clips can deliver a pretty good look and finish with a minimal effort. One thing to note is that the cable will fray at the ends when cut with a knife or scissors. If you have a hot knife, it's a great tool to use here. If not, you can get by with only a little sloppiness melting the cut ends with a lighter or candle flame. Heat shrink tubing will cover it anyways. Cable pants aren't the focus here, but in case it's helpful to anyone sorting out sizing, I bought 6mm, 8mm, and 10 mm options, branded Parts Express. I managed to get the 6mm on the 14/2 wire, but it was a huge and frustrating effort to make it happen, and definitely too tight to fit the 12/2. I'd look to the 8mm or 10mm options. Getting the 6mm on the 14/2 felt like someone spending 90 minutes to get into some ultra skinny jeans that don't really fit anymore. Dressing up speaker cables is mostly a vanity project, but it was fun and satisfying and I'm happy with the results. I liked it enough that I may use some scraps and extra pieces to cover lamp cords and other exposed wires around the house. If you're someone that thinks about wire management and aesthetics, this stuff can be an interesting tool in your arsenal. And I'd say this particular product is a fine one.

Used with shrink tube and had a few close calls with the heat gun. Other than that it worked great and my wiring harness is way better than it was factory.

The 1/4 inch sleeve worked well for me with two 16 gauge wires. There is a trick to pushing the wire in all the way -- think of it as a gigantic Chinese finger trap where you have to push the sleeve together to open it up and push the wire farther in.
