Doctor's Best Chelated Iron Supplement with Ferrochel, 27 mg, 120 Tablets

I need additional Iron due to GAVE; I understand this is the best. I take one tablet every other day and some vitamin C, and I don't get an upset stomach from taking too much iron. I've taken other supplements in the past, but I understand from my current physician that this Chelated Iron Supplement with Ferrochel, checks all the boxes.

This is an excellent product. I had surgery which resulted in blood loss and anemia. My iron levels were in the toilet and my hemoglobin was about 9.0, very anemic. My doc told me to start taking an iron supplement twice a day but upon researching it it seemed that taking a larger dose every other day would be more beneficial so I did that. I took three of these tablets every other day on an empty stomach and with one capsule of Doctors Best 1000mg vitamin C (Yes I am a big fan of this brand). Within two months my hemoglobin was up to 14.2 and my iron levels were at low normal. I feel so much better. Doc told me to keep doing what I’ve been doing for another 3 months to fully replenish my iron stores. So far this iron supplement has been pretty good. I don't get too nauseated or constipated with this iron. Sometimes I do get iron burps from it though.

On my yearly bloodwork I was told I was low on iron in both compartments that store iron in your body. Something about the main supply and backup supply in your body. Anyway, I was told by my doc to take iron for 6 months and we’ll do another test to see if I’m iron deficient/anemic. Got my bloodwork done after 6 months and my iron levels have now gone back to normal! Never took iron pills before but I researched these since they said chelated and wanted to gain more knowledge. I usually take one pill in the morning with water and sometimes with some OJ about a hour before breakfast. Never had any issues. The pills are small so they’re easy to swallow. Only “negative” would be they kind of taste funny if you don’t drink enough water with it but that’s okay since they actually work.
