i own many tamagotchi systems and am very familiar with the devices, i think this device is very wonderful even though my favourite system will always be the tamagotchi ON. it came a little early, fully charged, came with the cable and a manual in japanese, the system does NOT come in english. overall the system is wonderful but if you want DETAILED review and advice please read from any of the sections below. feel free to skip to anything that troubles you about the system that you might need a guide for. CHARGING : the tama system will come with a comically short charging cable, it is recommended you plug this in ONLY to a laptop or computer of some sort for charging. the cable is a fast charging cable made with the exact voltage to charge the smart, using a block or cable not specifically made for the smart has been known to fry the device. it is also recommended you take the system off the charger when it becomes fully charged. the system charges in about an hour or two and the charge lasts typically all day with regular check ins and gameplays. THE SCREEN / DEVICE : the smart is different from many other tama systems, and is also much different than a smartwatch. it only has one button instead of three and it mostly acts as a back button or to bring up the menu, anything else is typically at the hands of the screen. please take note of the touch screen, many people say they find it difficult at first so i want to try to explain how it works. the touch screen is NOT free touch, it is broken up into quadrants A. B. C. and D. it registers touch by reading which quadrant the touch was in. if you want to scroll down move your finger in a long hold from the bottom left to the top right, that is my easiest method of scrolling. if you want to make a selection it is recommended you hold the button for a second so it can read your selection. GAMEPLAY : like all tamas i do not recommend you start up or let your child start up the system when you or they are extremely busy, when the tama hatches it goes through the needy baby stage and WILL die if you don't pay attention to it for an extended period of time. you do the typical things of feeding it until the hunger meter is full, and letting it play with a toy or feeding it a snack to raise its happiness, and cleaning its uh- poop. the baby will get sick, you just have to give it medicine, and eventually it will take a nap and grow to the child stage in under 15 minutes typically where its a bit less needy. i recommend watching a translation video and/or familiarizing yourself with the menus if japanese is not your first language. its all decently simple and i've memorized mine in a day or so, but i'll loosely go over the selections. you'll have 4 big buttons (with symbols so it should be easier to understand) and then 4 more when you scroll down. they go in this order; settings and profile, medicine and housesitting (in that order when clicked), food and snacks (in that order once clicked), and bathroom and shower (in that order once clicked). scrolling down will bring you to; toys clothes and treasures (i think in that order when clicked), the apps button (which will lead you to food deliveries, item delieveries, and a camera, as well as the dating app when the tama is old enough to marry off.), the outdoors button (so the tama can go talk to others or the second selection is how you get to minigames), and the tamagotchi connect button. if you hold the bottom right corner where your tama is you can also bring up a second menu, bringing your tama closer to the screen where you can pet and talk to it. overall remember to check the profile for happiness meter and hunger, and check the settings for batterly life and everything should work out. SEPERATE CARDS AND ACCESSORIES: the tamagotchi smart system introduces different chips with downloadable content in them. these chips have extra characters and items and games to download onto the system for more content. you can download ONE chip at a TIME, but the chips themselves only have three uses, once you've downloaded the same chip three times it stops working and you need to buy another. if you are an adult you most likely shouldn't expect the wrist strap to fit (as its made for kids) unless you have very tiny slender wrists, i recommend buying a seperate bigger one or a lanyard. CONCLUSION: thats about all i have to say about the system, there are many good youtube guides out there from people who know japanese that can help you more in depth. overall the system is wonderful and if you have a friend or older kid who loves tamagotchis i recommend it, however if your younger child doesnt understand japanese i don't think it would be a good purchase for them. i think its a great system and i was happy to get it for my birthday around the holiday season.

Order this for my son. It arrived ahead of schedule and so far so good. He's very happy with it. Well worth the money that was paid.

Fantastic device, one of my favorite Tamagotchi models that exist. I just wish the battery had a longer life because after a year of charges it does hold less charge. Typical of products from Japan though, thanks to how our plugs are set up in the western world instead.

It's really cute! It's a bit bigger than I expected it to be but it works perfectly well and got here in good condition. I'm hoping the company will release an English patch for it at some point.
