Performance is excellent.
Excellent product. It's a little heavy, but it produces an appropriate amount of steam in a reasonable time, reaches and maintains the desired temperatures for each kind of fabric and, so far, doesn't appear to leak. it has a nice, smooth surface (though I believe it has recently been "upgraded") and a properly pointed front end. It stands firmly on end. When I had to replace two failing old Rowenta irons, I chose two different recommended replacements and have found this one far superior to my other choice, despite its somewhat higher price.

It is a very good quality iron for such a little cost.
I love the iron. I have had all different brands and they do not compare. I had irons for which I paid more than 350 dollars. It has a little weight to it which I love. The temperature setting is perfect and easy to set. It has a large water tank which is a big plus. The steam setting is very easy to set. The steam out put is constant. Finally, I got myself an iron that works.

WOW... makes me want to iron more!
I replaced my $10 iron with this one after seeing someone use it on a You Tube sewing demonstration of feld seams. The person wasn't highlighting the iron, but I could tell that it was different and made the task easier. Wow, this iron really impresses in person (no pun intended)! It's heavy, so it does a lot of the work for you. The plate is super smooth on all fabrics. It has fool proof digital temps... more more guessing with the dial. It heats all the way to the very tip of the sharp point, allowing you to easily get into corners. Love the auto-shutoff... it says "after 1 min.", but I think the reality is more like "5 minutes". It heats right back up when "touched". Great for sewing. I actually read the little instruction book, and learned that I've been ironing linen incorrectly my whole life. It's expensive, but I think it is worth it!

Exceeded my expectations!
Two years ago when I was on the hunt for a new iron I almost purchased the Chi. I decided to go with another Rowenta (DW2459) since I had had luck with another one previously. All in all it has been a decent iron for the last couple of years. It did and does leak yes. Irning performance still seemed decent and steam is OK but getting sick of working a little too hard to iron cotton shirts for work and school every week etc so off on the hunt for another iron.Read all the reviews again blah blah and decided to go back to the Chi for a shot which I had already purchased last time. Received this morning, fired it up full of water and max temp as always! Rolled a few wrinkled shirts out of the closet that had been laundered a few weeks back so full of serious wrinkles. Kaboom! This thing is no joke. It made short work of the shirts in no time. Night and day diff bw the Chi and Rowenta. Way more steam, never had to use the steam burst button once. A real pleasure. As you can see in the pics there is a strong resemblance bw the two. Almost identical size, weight etc. The Rowenta does feel a slightly more premium of sorts as the plastic seems thicker and slightly softer touch. In addition, I will say that the Stainless sole of the Rowenta does glide over shirts a tad smoother. Otherwise, there really is no comparison as it relates to performance. If I can get a few years out of this machine I will be a happy camper. All the videos and online reviews made them sound comparable which is why I was unsure last time as as well as this time which to buy. In my real world example, they are not.
