How do boys do on it? I don't see a splash guard.

I'm not sure. It doesn't have a splash guard but there is a side that has a higher lip. I put the higher end in the Bach but I'm sure for a boy u could put it in the front and it should be fine. They sit pretty deep into the seat.

Does this Potette Require bags to use!? Is it basically just a hole?

It is just a "hole" with legs I guess is a good way to describe it. If you use it out doors you could get away with not using a bag for peeing. I primarily use it in the car (so bags are mandatory) or when we travel (hotels, public restrooms, visit with friends/family without children) so our daughter doesn't fall in or put her hands on nasty toilets to anchor herself.

what is the height of the potty?

When it's set up for a stand alone potty it's only about 5-6" tall. It's the same height as the other kinds of potty chairs you see that are not convertible like this one. We have one and love how it has disposable liners for travel, but it's terribly uncomfortable to sit on top of a normal potty for longer periods of time when you are first starting to potty train.

Is the opening bigger than the oxo one?

Not sure. I only have this one and the baby bjorn. But this is a great one. Fits on all toilets and is a stand alone as well.

I keep this in my car with old diapers and shopping bags. This has truly saved me many times on road trips and sporting events with porta potties. Such a necessary part for parenting toddlers. Highly recommend as it folds easily and takes up barely any space. Can easily fit in most car center consoles and trunks.

Took a bit to figure out how to click the legs into place for it to work as a free standing pot, but otherwise handy. I like that it works two ways, comes with a storage bag and some liner bags. I wish it had more liner bags included than just the three. It is a little bulky in the diaper bag but sometimes I leave the bag in the car and just take the potette into the restroom. Occasionally have to help my boy aim so he doesn’t pee on the back of his pants but usually it does what it is meant to without issue. I don’t leave the house without it. Potty training must have.
